ANGIE

✧ ✦ ✧

My first day of school was... a lot. I'd been through such a range of emotions arising from a variety of situations. The best part was the bond I'd forged with my principal. The highlight of my day, however, was the battle of the nerds.

This Oliver fellow seemed to be a worthy opponent, and for the time being, I'd give him hell.

On my second day at Richmond Prep, I was much more acquainted. My hair was now a beautiful baby blue I hadn't intended for it to be so light but much of the dye's pigment had washed out. However, it was certainly a happy accident.

I wore fishnet stockings under a plaid, knife-pleated mini skirt and a black, fitted long-sleeve. Paired with black, block heeled boots and a layer of silver chains, it's safe to say, the Angie that came to school yesterday was light years away from the Angie that came today.

And everyone noticed. Yesterday I felt like a circus act being stared at. Today, I was an animal in the zoo. The looks I got were either of confusion, wonder, some admiration (I did look like a gothic dream after all) and my personal favourite, was the looks of disgust.

Take now, for example. I was standing at my locker taking out my books for my next class when I heard the distinct sound of teenage girls giggling behind me.

"I'm sorry," I exclaimed, slamming my locker closed as I turned to them. They jumped at the sound and I recognized only one of the girls. She was the one that I had the stare-off with during homeroom yesterday.

Did she really want to make an enemy out of me?

"Is there something you'd like to say?" I asked condescendingly, taking a few steps closer to them.

"Excuse me? Do you even know who you're talking-"

"No? Yeah I didn't think so," I cut her off, giving her a look that said it all.
