I trekked the short distance to Oliver's house, taking my time to savour the serenity.

However obnoxious, my neighbourhood was a marvel. The steadily changing colours of the trees offered a taste of the autumn beauty to come.

Sighing in content from the short but fruitful walk, I walked up the pathway to Harding house.

Having been given the code a few weeks before, I strolled right in. I couldn't classify this house as my second home since I didn't have one in the first place. But I spent so much of my time here and I was practically in love with Lorelei so yes, this was my house.

"Hello darling," Lorelei greeted as I strolled into the main area. I let out a low whistle as I approached her.

"Somebody looks like they're getting ready for a date," I teased, wondering if her lacy black ensemble was for a certain principal of mine.

She blushed and stumbled, an action incredibly unfamiliar coming from Lori.

"I have a... lunch meeting, yes- a lunch meeting that I'm a little more than fashionably late for."

"A lunch meeting? Is that what they're calling it these days?" I continued and she gave me a small, playful glare.

"There is pasta in the fridge from dinner last night and Oliver's in his study. See you later sweetheart."

She placed a delicate kiss on my cheek and with that, scurried out the room, a trail of mystique and expensive perfume left behind.

With a laugh, I went straight to the kitchen, the taste of last night's pasta flooding my tastebuds. I opened the fridge and stared hard at it but after a few seconds, I decided to leave it for later. Instead, I grabbed a bag of salted popcorn from the pantry.
