Chapter Nine: Yamaguchi, You Too?

POV: Oikawa Tooru

Oh Iwaizumi, how you make me question my sexuality. No seriously, how? I went from hoping to find a Princess to be my wife to now being interested in a guard who's a male, in less than a day!

I may not be in "love" with him, but there's definitely feelings there. Little butterflies roam my stomach when he appears. My head stops working when he says my name. The feeling of happiness when he laughs or smiles. I love all of it.

I can tell Akaashi feels the same way for Bokuto. And Kuroo already said he does. Maybe we all met our soulmates. Ah, that's a stretch. Maybe we-

"Um Prince Oikawa?"

Oh, someone's at my room? It's not Kuroo since he just went to the bathroom and he'd never address me like that.

"Yes?"

"May I uh come in please? It's fine if I can't!"

The voice is familiar but I can't put a name to it.

"Yes of course."

The door opens and in walks Yamaguchi.

"Oh Yamaguchi? What are you doing here?"

"Um if you uh don't mind me asking, how did you and uh Tsukishima meet?"

He's asking about Tsuki? Why? He won't talk to anyone but me, Kuroo and Bokuto unless it's to insult them.

"Um well Kei was hired here when he was thirteen. He used to be a butler but he tried out to be a guard and passed. His parents were actually guards so he was pretty well trained to be a guard. But my parents also saw him as a good fit for my protection and assigned him to guard me. We kinda got to know each other from there. Why are you asking about him?"

"Oh well I'm- It's just that-"

"Are you interested in him?"

"W-what! No way! He just looked alone! Yeah he looked alone and I was thinking uh maybe we could be friends?"

So he's definitely interested. But why is he trying to hide it? Maybe he's embarrassed.

"You can try talking to him. He barely lets Kuroo, Bokuto and I consider him as a friend. Be careful though he tends to nitpick at people when he's upset."

"I will. Thank you, sir."

"No need to be formal. Just call me Oikawa."

"Right."

He starts to leave but I call out to him.

"Um Yamaguchi, before you go, what do you know about Iwaizumi?"

He stopped and turned to me.

"Iwaizumi? Well he's a nerd first off. He likes to work out in his spare time. He has two siblings. His sister is off somewhere probably married and his brother lives with his parents back in Fukurodani. He joined the royal family when he was young, in not sure how young though. He ended up wanting to be a guard and they assigned him to Akaashi since he's strong."

"Why didn't he get assigned to the Princess?"

"He was actually supposed to but Akaashi requested him. Also the Princess tried to sleep with him once."

She tried to what?

"How'd that go?"

"He ended up telling Akaashi who then requested him as a guard and found Nishinoya as a replacement for him. The Princess was pissed and even almost forced him into it but luckily she was called before anything could happen. Ever since then Akaashi has had him basically right next to him."
