A familiar sound rang from the alarm on the dressing table as Morgan jumped and sat against the headboard, her brown hair tied in knots and sticking to the pillow below her. "Still need to get used to these 5am starts" she said, her morning voice raspy from the night as she turned the music off so she didn't wake up her mother and father in the progress, turns out that plan was a bust. Her mother wheeled into the bedroom to say good morning to her daughter her brown hair up in a bun as she was dressed in her usual work jacket and trousers to prepare for her day at Department of Defence "Come on Morgan you need to be at NCIS for 6 its already quarter past 5" she groaned as her daughter got out of bed "I thought you would be more excited for this" her mother said, a hint of unsure in her voice "I'm so looking forward to it mum but after a gap year of lie ins and taking it slow, I need to get used to these fast paced mornings again" she giggled softly as she made her bed and got the jacket and jeans from her wardrobe on the adjacent wall.
"Morning hon" A male voice said just before he stepped into the room himself, that was Morgan's father Timothy Farragut McGee. Also NCIS agent dressed in his white shirt, thin black tie and jeans. He worked alongside Tali's parents all those years ago while they were still agents before both Tony and Ziva left NCIS, he stayed an agent as long as he could until he got a promotion to become a senior cyber agent, dealing with hackings into government systems alongside a team that was in the very bottom of the navy yard. "You ready to go?" her father asked smiling "Morning traffic is a nightmare" he giggled as Morgan smiled at him "I certainly am Elf Lord" she chuckled and so did her mother "What did I tell you about that nickname? there is only 2 people that can call me that and that's Gibbs and Tony" her father rolled his eyes playfully as Morgan kissed her mothers cheek "Have a great day Morgan" she said before Morgan walked out the door "You coming dad?" she said in slight confusion since he wasn't moving "Ill meet you in the car sweet" he said before throwing Morgan the keys and she headed off out of the apartment and left her mother and father alone.
"Does she know yet?" Delilah asked frowning slightly "No, I'm gonna see if she can recognise her herself, I mean its been over 15 years since they've seen each other, I doubt she will actually remember her" Tim frowned as well, they both knew that Tali was going to work at NCIS but they chose not to tell Morgan, just to see if she can find that out herself who she was and to see if she remembered her childhood friend. "I better go, she's gonna get suspicious" Tim said softly "Yeah... see you later" Delilah said kissing her husbands cheek before he left for the car.
"What was that about then?" Morgan asked as she sat back in the front seat "Nothing you need to worry about" Tim said as he started the car and pulled out of the drive "Of course it is, always a need to know basis... is it about John? is he ok?" Morgan asked, her brother John McGee enlisted in the navy 5 years ago and only just passed his training and he was off in Iraq "We got a letter from him yesterday, you read it yourself, he's alright" he said reassuringly as he pulled onto the main road "We were just talking about Uncle Clay you never met him did you?" he asked as he turned to his daughter for a split second as she shook her head "You and Clay would've been two peas in a pod exact same personality, he was a British chap, he was there when your mum and I got married in our apartment" he giggled slightly "Wait you got married the mummy palace? that's a little creepy" she giggled, the kids nicknamed their dads old apartment the mummy palace after they found a mummified body under the bed when his dad and the team were doing a case. "yeah" he giggled "Alright here we are" Tim said as he pulled into the navy yard "You know where to go don't you?" he asked as Morgan smiled "have a great day kid, let me know when you finish" she nodded and got out of the car pulling her bag over her back.
"Lets do this"
