"Ok, my flight is at 12 and it's currently 8:03 , I have 2 hours to drive down to the airport, so I have just over 3 and a half hours to grab a bite to eat, check in go through customs- oh shit- I have to go through customs..." the woman said looking down at her ankle holster, the gun in her pocket and knife in her other holster on her other ankle.
That was Tali David, your average 20 something woman about to start training in Washington DC to become an NCIS agent, one of 2 probies that have passed the interview stages and now on active cases to see which one suited best for the team.
"Well... I am a- no, stop saying I am when you havent even passed the other tests yet and havent even got your badge yet! Just because both your parents were agents doesnt mean you will be" She talked to herself as her phone started blasting the theme tune to 'the office' , her ringtone for her father "great" she said slightly sarcastically as she picked up the phone.
"Shalom Aba, I'm a little busy right now" Tali said over the speaker phone as she stood her phone up against the television, her fathers face on the screen.
Tony Dinozzo, ex federal agent, now crime lecturer at Paris university, left the agency just after Tali was born, but NCIS never left him or the family. Taking trips back and forth from Paris to Washington at every birthday, boat release or special occasion Tali grew up with practically a US and a Paris family, that was until her mothers close call. That group of agents were as tight as a knot and the family bond was always there but after that, it was all gone. Tony hadnt been back to Washington in 18 years as he didnt want to be reminded of what it was like back then.
"So big day huh? You excited?" Tony asked "Oui, just a little bit nervous though" she said as she was pacing the room checking for any spare items left under the bed or any spare food in the drawers that she needed to put in her bag.
"Your mum's really happy that you wanted to train in the navy and not mossad, your uncle's a pain in the ass-" "I heard that Dinozzo" a female voice in the background said, that was Tali's mother.
Ziva David, also ex federal agent at NCIS, but vanished while on a mission for the director after there was a bombing at their Isreali safehouse and was presumed dead and went missing for 3 years, after surviving the bombing. But reuniting with Tali and her father in Paris when the girl was only 11, bringing the family together once again. Tali didnt remember much of the agents that her family used to see but now she was heading back to DC, she was hoping to see some familiar faces.
"I'm guessing it runs in the family" her father laughed as his wife smacked him at the back of the head "that never gets old" Ziva laughed at Tali as she left back "my big girl, following in our footsteps after all these years, stand back I'm gonna get a screen grab of you in your uniform "screen shot Ima, not screen grab" Tali giggled as she stepped a couple steps backwards so her mum could get a picture of her.
"Oh Ima it's so strange not being there just to hug you anymore" Tali frowned as she stepped back towards the camera "I know Tali-" her mother started just before Tont snatched the phone off Ziva and looked Tali dead in the eyes "Your a David AND a Dinozzo stop being a wimp" "Tony!" Ziva shouted. Another slap came to the back of his head "do another one for me" Tali giggled "No, I got way too many concussions from them and I do not want another one" Tony argued just before they all giggled happily
"Ima I got to go, my car comes in 15 minutes. I'll speak to you when I land, which may be tomorrow at this rate due to the time zones" Tali said somberly "it's going to be ok baby" Zova said with a soft smile "yeah, listen to your mum. Also don't get a speeding ticket on the way to the airport" they all giggled "I'll see you soon" "shalom" they all said before the call ended and Tali put her phone and charger safely in her pocket.
"Its now or never"
