"Ms. Stark, could we pick up now where we left off?" Senator Stern calls again trying to get the attention of the woman in question who was turned around giving Pepper a reassuring look. Pepper herself appeared to be reprimanding the younger woman. The court room was filled with the press, politicians, military and any one high up in the government.

"Ms. Stark. Please."

"Yes, Dear?" Alex turned back around to face the man whom she has recently started despising. If he cared about the people, it would be different but all he cares about is the weapons. Alex gets a strange sense of déjà vu, when looking at the man, he reminds her of Ross.

Though her time working with Ross was limited, when she found out that he was only interested in making super soldiers, weapons, she purposely sabotaged his research. At the time she believed it was the best thing, the world didn't need people who could kill someone with the flick of their wrist, someone who could be easily swayed. Looking back now, though, she feels a little bit of guilt, she built the machine and helped with the formula that turned Dr. Banner into the Hulk.

But now here she was, with another man whose only goal is to take her property, to use her designs for destruction once again. This wasn't something that can be easily stopped, its over if anyone like the ten rings got their hands on this.

"Can I have your attention?"

"absolutely" Alex's polite smile stayed on her face

"do you or do you not possess a specialized weapon?"

"I do not" she replied firmly, the Iron Man suit wasn't primarily a weapon, in fact it was a flight system.

"you do not?"

"I do not. Well, it depends on how you define the word weapon" she responds casually

"the iron man weapon" senator Stern replies waving his hands as he relaxes in his chair, it was obvious to Alex that he believed he would win, he didn't see her as any sort of threat. That was always the first mistake.

"my device does not fit that description" she replied sitting up in her seat leaning slightly on her forearms, ensuring every word was heard not only by the panel but the entire court room and the camera's that were live streaming this as she spoke.

"well... how would you describe it?" Stern replies stuttering slightly, his shoulders tense slightly, as he leaned forward.

"I would describe it by defining what it is, Senator"

"as?" Stern asked.

The other members on the panel don't look as invested as Stern, in fact many of them seem bored, and some haven't spoken the entire time. Alex can't tell if that's because they don't care or aren't foolish enough to go against her.

"a high-tech prothesis. A flight system. That is... that's actually the most apt description"

The crowd laughs at Alexandra's answer, all except Pepper. It's clear they believe she is messing with them, but Alex's face remains serious, the main ability of the suit is to fly at least that's what she does most of the time.

"it's a weapon. It's a weapon Ms. Stark"

"please if your priority was actually the wellbeing of the American Citizen...." Alex began before being rudely cut off.

"My priority is to get the Iron Man weapon turned over to the people of the United States of America."

By this point Alex was tired, she had enough of this. It was her personal property, she built it and what she did with it was none of their concern. She wasn't using it to hurt the people, she wasn't a threat.
