The next few months passed, and Alex was very busy indeed. After everything that happened the past summer, well she wanted to show the world she wasn't down, in fact she was better than ever.

Which is how Stark Tower came to fruition, a tower running solely on clean energy. The first of its kind, the tallest building in Manhattan and a pinnacle for the future.

At the moment she is attempting something she hasn't done in two years, go underwater. "You got me Jarvis?" she asked before her suit submerges.

"the suit is fully capable for underwater exploration"

"thank you" she replied as the suit breached the ocean.

The tower was nearly finished, all she had left to do was hook it up. While under the dark water she uses a laser in the gauntlet to open up a conduit, before attaching a device to a massive pipe. Like a canon fired from a submarine, Iron Man shot from below the surface of the river and soared into the sparkling sky over Manhattan.

"Good to go on this end. The rest is up to you"

"You disconnected the transmission lines? Are we off the grid?" Pepper replied through the headset in the Iron Man suit.

"Stark Tower's about to become a beacon of self-sustaining clean energy." Alex replied with a smile as her suit zoomed through the air.

"Well, assuming the arc reactor takes over and it actually works."

The PR campaign had been a success, the media outlets were alerted, and Stark Industries CEO's were ready to flip the switch. Tonight, was the night they lit Stark Tower, New York's newest and most spectacular skyscraper and the most eco-friendly. The first not just in the city but the world to run on self-sustaining energy.

"Pep, Pep, Pep. Have you no faith." Alex rocketed low over fifth avenues, heading North.

"Light her up"

Alex watched as she approached, the tower starts to glow slowly like the buildings around it. At the top her name 'Stark' is a silver blue, leading to a landing zone and her penthouse. The pinnacle of the New York skyline.

"How does it look?"

Alex smiles watching Pepper's face light up in the HUD "like Christmas, but with more me"

"We've got to go wider on the public awareness campaign. You need to do some press."

Alex flies over an overpass and up the side of the tower. "I'm in DC tomorrow. I'm working on the zoning for the next three buildings."

"Pepper, you're killing me at the moment. Remember, enjoy the moment."

"Then get in here and I will."

Alex reached the top of the tower, aiming for a landing pad and walkway specially constructed for Iron Man. As she walked towards the penthouse office and living space her shared with Pepper, machines automatically removed the iron man armor piece by piece.

"Ma'am, Agent Coulson of SHIELD is on the line." Jarvis tells her.

"I'm not it." Alex replies as the helmet is taken off "I'm actually out"

She laughs to herself about that slightly as it has many different connotations. She knew Jarvis would make an excuse for her. That was one of the things she programmed into Jarvis. Back then she was only 15-16 and was still at MIT. It came in handy when she tried to curb Ross's demands.

"Ma'am, I'm afraid he's insisting."

"Grow a spine Jarvis, I have a date" Alex glances through the windows to where Pepper is sitting at an holographic table.
