Dented Iron (Hiatus)

The First Betrayal

November 15th

After a successful testing, Alex began creating the rest of the suit, the outer armor being the most important. After her time in Afghanistan, she knew she wanted this armor to be resistant to bullets and explosions she refused to be caught by an explosion again. Over the next month she begins to crawl deeper into herself, left alone with only her bots and Jarvis on her side.

However, despite Pepper's obvious concern for the company she also seemed to care a great deal for Alex. For that Alex was thankful, unlike the others Pepper still stayed around, Rhodey was still about his career but Alex had held out hope he would see the folly in his ways.

Alex was down in her lab wearing her black leggings and a tight black shirt as she was standing in the middle of her makeshift landing pad. Her arms and legs were slowly covered by the silver armor of the Mark II as she stood in place. Reaching out Alex grabbed the faceplate of her armor and watched as the display lit up.

"Jarvis are you there?"

"at your service ma'am"

"engage heads up display" inside the suit the faceplate came alive with various information flitting across the screen

"check"

"import all preferences from home interface"

"will do ma'am" the faceplate began collecting data on everything in frame, from the cars to the type of tools in the lab.

"all right what you say?" she asked Jarvis as more information began flickering across the screen

"I have indeed been uploaded ma'am. We're online and ready"

"can we start the virtual walk-around?"

"importing preferences and calibrating virtual environment" the HUD began displaying a model of the suit

"do a check on control surfaces"

"as you wish" on the outside the suit began checking all of its abilities ensuring that the flaps and joints began moving.

"test complete. Preparing to power down and begin diagnostics"

"ah yeah tell you what. Do a weather and ATC check. Start listening in on ground control" Jarvis brought up the information that Alex asked for but was clearly against her jumping in t a flight this soon. It made sense Jarvis had been the closest thing to a parent to Alex the moment he was born.

"ma'am there are still terabytes of calculations needed before an actual flight is..."

"Jarvis, sometimes you gotta run before you can walk. Ready? In three , two , one" on her final count she stood straight up with her hands at her sides as the propulsors fire on lifting her from the ground. It was easier for Alex to move around while in the full suit, she tilted forward and sped off at a high speed through the tunnel she normally used to get her cars to the basement.

She grazed the side of the wall before launching out of the tunnel and straight into the sky. Alex whooped and hollered with pure joy as she climbed higher into the sky, twirling, and spinning she finally leveled herself.

"handles like a dream" she shot off over the ocean getting a handle of her suit, as she flew closer to the land the HUD display in the helmet began collecting and displaying information. The display focused on the Ferris wheel, it zoomed in on a little boy and girl sitting in one of the carts. The boy was the first to see her, he was so distracted that he dropped his ice cream.

It did not take long for Alex to put distance between herself and the park, covering the distance it would take a car at least an hour before she veered upward.
