Dented Iron (Hiatus)

Tensions rise

Banner and Alex stare at the screen that read 'ACCESS DENIED', Alex tries to hack again. It shouldn't be hard; she hacked the Pentagon in high school.

"Let's see here," Alex began typing on the keyboard "ahh... super-secret spy's need better security if a twenty-three-year-old can hack them"

Alex smirked as Fury entered the room.

"What are you doing Stark?"

"Uh- kind of been wondering the same thing about you." Alex replied not in the least bit ashamed for being caught hacking into the database. Fury should have known the moment she was on board that she would. She did know that Romanoff was a spy, so this really wasn't a surprise.

"You're supposed to be locating the Tesseract."

"We are, the model's locked and we're sweeping for the signature now. When we get a hit, we'll have the location within half a mile." Banner replied, gesturing to the scanner on the other side of the room. Fury turned to look.

"And you'll get your cube back, no muss, no fuss." Alex said opening a file "What is Phase Two?"

Rogers enters the room and slams a gun onto the table. It was a prototype, or not. No, this was a weapon from WWII, a hydra weapon. Her father had notes about it, and used it to help formulate his own weapons.

"Phase Two is SHIELD used the Cube to make weapons." He turns to Alex "Sorry, computer was moving a little slow for me."

"Not slow, just had to find the good stuff" she muttered scanning through the files.

"Rogers, we gathered everything related to the Tesseract. This does not mean that we're-"

"I'm sorry, Nick." Alex turned the screen to Fury, anger lacing her voice as plans for some sort of missile flashed before her eyes, a classified SHIELD design for Tesseract-powered Weaponry. "Why were you lying?"

"I was wrong, Director. The world hasn't changed a bit."

Romanoff and Thor enter the room and Alex looks at Romanoff. "Did you know about this?"

Romanoff didn't answer instead she turned to Bruce. "You wanna think about removing yourself from this environment, doctor?"

Banner laughs "I was in Calcutta, I was pretty well removed."

"Loki's manipulating you."

"And you've been doing what exactly?"

"You didn't come here because I bat my eyelashes at you."

"Yes, and I'm not leaving because suddenly you get a little twitchy." Alex could see the man getting upset, he wasn't angry persay but he definitely wasn't happy. "I'd like to know why SHIELD is using the Tesseract to build weapons of mass destruction."

Alex watched the two go back and forth. Fury however, seemed to have found himself in a tough spot and pointed at Thor "Because of him"

"Me?" Thor asked confused.

"Last year earth had a visitor from another planet who had a grudge match that leveled a small town. We learned that not only are we not alone, but we are hopelessly hilariously, out-gunned."

"My people want nothing but peace with your planet."

"But you're not the only people out there, are you? And you're not the only threat. The world's filling up with people who can't be matched, they can't be controlled." Fury ended that statement staring at Alex.

She glanced at everyone in the room and realized he was right. Romanoff was his agent, Rogers can be fooled, Banner wasn't confrontational enough to stand up for himself and Thor wasn't around half the time, but he would want to help... which left Alex, the girl that told him no and told him that she wasn't one of his men.
