Chapter 10

Muichiro’s POV 
 
I woke up to the sound of my alarm, my eyes blinked open lazily. My arm flopped onto my nightstand as I tried to turn off my alarm. As I rubbed my eyes I saw my door creek open slightly and heard some scuffling sounds. I looked over the side of my bed to see Pebbles sitting there, looking up at me with her tongue slightly out and her head tilted.

‘Oh yeah, I impulsively bought a dog to stop myself from jumping off the roof’ I scratched my head as it all came back. She jumped up on her hind legs and leaned her front legs against the side of my bed. I reached down and pulled her up onto the bed, she laid next to me and got comfortable. I looked down at her and smiled to myself, my eyelids felt heavy.

I grabbed my phone and looked up the school number, I dialed the number and waited.

“Hello” A monotone voice answered the phone, “Kimetsu Academy this is Shaney at the office”

I pinched my nose closed to make my voice sound higher, “Yes I would like to call in sick” I started.

“And what’s your name?” she asked.

“My name is Muichiro Tokito, I’m in Mr. Tomioka’s homeroom, class 12B” I said.

“Ok, thank you for informing the school” she said again before hanging up.

I smiled and set down my phone, I pulled the covers back over me and snuggled up next to Pebbles. She looked me in the eyes. She moved forward towards my face and licked my eyelid, I chuckled and closed my eyes, Pebbles moved closer to me and snuggled up next to my neck.
 
Tanjirou’s POV
 
I sat in class, Mr. Tomioka still hadn’t gotten there so I just sat there by myself. Muichiro still hadn’t gotten there and that made me anxious, I had seen him, and he looked bad. He had puffy eyes, as if he had been crying and he always looked tired, he started to look really sloppy and he hardly payed attention in class. I think he once fell asleep in class. I was worried about him and I wanted to talk to him, but I couldn’t. But today he didn’t show up to class, scenarios started to run through my thoughts, worse than tangible, just awful. ‘Ok, I got to get over it, I can just forget, I need to go check up on him after school today’ I thought to myself.

Of course I was still nervous, how would I even explain my behavior? ‘Hey Muichiro, I had a weird but pleasant dream about you, and I’ve been to much of a wuss and pervert to talk to you!’ I mean, what the hell?

The school day had been pretty hectic, I was out of it the entire day, I just couldn’t focus. I tried to think up of something to say but I just couldn’t come up with a believable excuse.

“Ok, so everyone stays here, no one leaves and Nezuko’s in charge!” I announced as I finished heating up some mac-n-cheese.

“So where are you going again?” Takeo asked.

“I need to go meet a friend” I said.

“That’s not how you pronounce girlfriend Tanjirou!” Takeo yelled from the couch.

“I don’t have a girlfriend!”
I walked down the street, I nervously fidgeted with my fingers as I walked.

I walked up the apartment complex when I realized I had no idea what apartment he lived in. So I just stood outside for a few minutes, I small elderly lady walked out the double doors of the building. I recognized her as Muichiro’s neighbor.

“Excuse me?” I walked up to her “I’m looking for Muichiro, could you tell me what apartment he lives in?”

“Oh yeah, I remember you, we met at the store, yes he lives in apartment 7 on the third floor” she said calmly.
