Chapter 20

Muichiro's POV

I looked into the mirror, I cringed at myself. I sighed nervously, I had already changed my outfit twice and this didn't feel right either. I went back to my closet and picked something else out, a lavender coloured sweater with a collar and buttons going down the collar slightly. It was a cute sweater with some moon and stars embroidered onto the front of it, it had puffy sleeves and was a bit loose. I also grabbed some loose boyfriend jeans with some butterfly patches sown onto the leg and a black belt. I also grabbed a white headband and headed back to the mirror. I flattened my shirt and tucked the ends into my pants. I brushed out all the knots in my hair and settled the headband between my bangs and the rest of my hair.

I smiled at myself in the mirror, I looked good, I felt satisfied with my clothes.
I dumped some dog food into Pebbles' bowl, and she ran over immediately.

"I'm going out for a little while, I'll be back in a few hours. You shouldn't have to pee, I just took you out but if you really can't hold it then you know where the potty pad is, I'm not really worried though. You usually fall asleep right after eating anyway" I said to her as she ate. I knew she didn't understand me, but I felt better talking to her than just leaving her.

I slipped on a beige pea coat with a large fluffy hood, I grabbed my cargo boots and a small backpack. I slipped my phone, wallet, keys, a granola bar, a water bottle, and a container. I know it's weird, but a plastic container has practically saved my life multiple times. I didn't know where Tanjirou was taking me, but I was excited, he told me to wear something comfortable.

T: Hey, I'm outside

M: Ok, I'll be out in just a minute

I walked down the stairs, even if there was an elevator, it broke down once and it took like three hours for help to get me out. So, and I would not like to go through that again, it actually happens more than most people know. I walked out of the stairwell and made my way to the door leading outside. I walked down the sidewalk towards a black SUV, the door opened when I got close enough.

"Hi, Muichiro, c'mon in" Tanjirou smiled.

I climbed into the car and took a seat on the leather row of seats.

"Hello Muichiro, nice to see you again" Tanjirou's dad said from the drivers seat.

"Hello Mr. Kamado" I smiled.

"I'm sorry my dad has to drive us, I would've driven but I can't with just one foot" he chuckled awkwardly.

"Oh it's fine, I really don't mind" I started, "You can drive? That must be nice, I can't drive"

"Oh, you can't, did you never get your license?" he asked.

"No, no one ever showed me how to drive, plus I don't even have a car so there's not really any point for me to know how to drive" I said.

"Makes sense, you'll have to learn some day though" he said.

"Yeah, I guess one day I will"

The ride was ok, we only made minimal small talk. Tanjirou didn't tell me where we were going, he just said that it'd be very nice and calming, I like calming.
We pulled in front of a large building that almost looked like a stadium, "Alright, I'll be back for you guys in a few hours" Tanjirou's dad said as we got out of the car.

"Why don't you leave your jacket in the car Muichiro, so you won't have to lug it around" Tanjirou suggested.

"Alright" I said, sliding off my jacket and leaving it on the seat.

"Ok, thanks dad" Tanjirou called to him as he started driving away.

"Oh, The Blue Water Aquarium?" I read a large sign on the front of the building.

"Yeah, what do you think?" he asked.

A smiled started spreading across my face, "I love it"
We walked in and showed the admissions persons some barcode thing on his phone, said it was a receipt and they let us in after scanning it.

The place was huge, the walls were tall, and the ceilings were high. Everything looked blue due to some blue hue lights, as soon as you entered you saw a large map showing the layout of the aquarium.

"Where do you want to go first?" Tanjirou asked.

"I don't know, I've never been here before" I said, "Would it be alright if we just walked around for a while?"

"Of course, anything you'd like" he smiled.

We walked around, through large tanks and exhibits. Looking at everything and reading information plaques. It was the most fun I've had in years, it got more excited with every step I took.

We stopped in front of a large tank with lots of multi-coloured fish, bug and small.

"This place really is amazing" I said.

"Yeah, I'm glad you are having a good time, I used to come here with my family" he said, "We've been walking for a while, do you want to stop by the food court?"

"Sure, I could use a water break" I said.

We walked through the halls of aquariums and into the food court. It was a large hall sort of room with large counters of food, almost like a buffet.

We walked up to the counter, "That'll be fifteen dollars a plate, you can fill the plate to your hearts content. You'll have to buy another plate if you want seconds" a teenage girl at a cashier sighed, like saying that sentence several times a day had drained her of her soul.

"Ok, I'll take two" Tanjirou said, taking out his wallet.

"Let me pay for mine" I said, starting to take off my bag.

"No, stop, I'm paying" he said as he pulled a card from his wallet

"No really let me pay" I said.

"Too late" he said as he suddenly tapped his card on the reader.

I sighed and playfully rolled my eyes with a smile.
We walked along the line of food, I picked up some food that I liked and dumped it on my plate. We stepped out of the line with plates full of food.

"I didn't realize you were so hungry" Tanjirou chuckled.

"Huh?" I looked down at my plate, it was just a mountain of food. "Oh, well, I saw an opportunity for free food and took advantage of it" I laughed slightly.

He smiled, "I know what you mean, it'd be a waste of money if you didn't fill your plate up to the max!" he joked.

We ate quietly, it was nice to eat without talking. Just sitting with each other, it was really nice.

The rest of the date went really well, we walked through most of the aquarium after eating.

By the time it was time to leave it was around six in the afternoon, we had gotten here at three. I was tired and my feet hurt, and I had a container full of food I had gotten for free. So the date wasn't entirely for nothing, I got free food... oh, and I got to spend time with Tanjirou.

We walked out of the building, the sun was starting to set over the horizon. When small flecks of white started to fall from the sky, we both looked up.

"Look Muichiro, the first snow of the year!" Tanjirou smiled.
The snow fell ideally, taking its time. They looked so delicate as the landed on my sleeves and hair, some settle on my eyelashes as I looked up at the sky. I held out my hands and felt the snow land on my palms, it felt so amazing.

"You look beautiful with snow on you Muichiro" Tanjirou whispered.

I didn't say anything, I just looked at him, then I leaned in and kissed him.
