Chapter 12

Muichiro’s POV
 
I slung my backpack over my shoulder. I wore some beige cargo shorts, a simple black t-shirt, some cargo boots, and my warm turquoise coloured bomber jacket, I had my long hair back in a tight pony with some loose strands to the side of my face. Pebbles followed me to the door as I got ready to leave, she sat next the door and watched as I checked that I had everything. I knelt down to look at her.

“I’ll be back in the afternoon, ok sweetie” I spoke to her gently while stroking the side of her face. She leaned into my touch, I retracted and got up. She seemed to understand and went to lay on her bed, I looked back one last time before leaving.

I walked into the gym to see the three twelfth grade classes conversing with each other. I looked over the large crowd, parent volunteers, students and teachers all filled the gym.

“Everyone, please quiet down, please quiet down!” a loud voice boomed over the crowd.
I turned to the front of the gym, where Mr. Rengoku, Mr. Tomioka and Mrs. Shinobu stood. Mr. Rengoku used his loud voice to announce instructions to everyone.

“All three classes have been put into groups. You will be with your group at all times to avoid people getting lost” he announced. “You’ve all already received your group number in class, the group leaders have been given a group number and a sign for you all to find your leader as quickly as efficiently as possible”

People started to raise pieces of papers with numbers on it, I looked around for my number ‘ 4 ’ I looked around for a second.

“Muichiro” someone put a hand on my shoulder, I jumped.

“Woah calm down Muichiro, it’s just me” Tanjirou said.

“Oh, Tanjirou, you scared me” I chuckled nervously.

“What group are you in?” he asked eagerly.

“I’m in group four” I said.

“Awesome, I’m in group four too, the group is this way” Tanjirou hooked his arm around mine and guided me through the crowd.

“You guys, I found our last buddy!” Tanjirou called out to a group of boys standing in the corner of the gym. “This is Muichiro, the friend I told you about” he smiled as he introduced me to a group of two boys and two girls along with an elderly man.

“Muichiro, this is Zenitsu, Inosuke, Kanao and Aoi, and Zenitsu’s Grandpa” he said.

I smiled and nodded my head at them, “Nice to meet you all”

“Hey, I know you, you’re the
guy that looks like a girl!” Inosuke exclaimed.

“Inosuke!” both Tanjirou and Zenitsu yelled at him.

“You’ll have to excuse him, he has the manners of a boar” Zenitsu told me as he rolled his eyes in Inosuke’s direction. “It’s nice to meet you, Tanjirou never stops talks about you, it’s nice to finally put a face to a name” he smiled.

“Zenitsu!” Tanjirou flushed as he tried to calm down Inosuke from the boar comment.

“It’s nice to meet you too” I smiled back.

“Alright, we’re all going to go to the buses now!” Mr. Rengoku announced, “We will call up each group individually and tell you what buss to get on, stay close to your group”

Mr. Rengoku started calling out numbers until he got to our group.

“Alright kids let’s go” A short elderly man lead the group to the gyms exit near the front of the school, Zenitsu’s Grandfather was short, he had what looked to be sharp features under his wrinkles. He had grey hair and walked with his hands behind his back.
