Chapter 27

Tanjirou's POV

"I can't believe you didn't tell me!" Nezuko yelled at me from across the dinner table. "I expect this kind of thing from anyone else except you Tanjirou! Truly and honestly, I'm hurt" she huffed and crossed her arms over her chest.

"What, why are you upset Nezuko?" Dad asked as he walked over bringing the salad with him.

"Tanjirou has been lying to all of us, and to think I had to hear it from a gossip at school!? It's awful!" she exclaimed.

"Why are being such a drama queen right now, what even happened, you've been like this for twenty minutes and nobody even knows what you're talking about!" Takeo said.

"Tanjirou and Muichiro, I heard from someone at school that Muichiro is actually a guy!"

The water in Takeo's mouth sprayed out all over Shigeru and Rokuta, Hanako almost dropped the bowl of soup she was carrying to the table and Rokuta almost choked on a cracker from the shock of the sudden burst of water. And Nezuko was still being a drama queen about the fact that she wasn't the first to know about Muichiro's real gender.

"So, when were you planning to tell us?" Takeo asked. All my siblings had gathered on one side of the table, leaving me alone on the other side, all the other lights were off, only the one above the table was on.

"I was planning on telling you guys, really I was, I just wanted to find the right timing" I said with an awkward smile.

"So what does this mean, are you gay or something?" Takeo asked.

"What's gay?" Shigeru asked.

"It means happy" Hanako said.

"No that's not what gay means" Takeo said.

"Yes it is, I saw it in the dictionary at school" Hanako said.

"No, gay means something else, it means-" Takeo got cut off.

"But if it's in the dictionary then it has to be true, right?" Shigeru asked.

"Not everything is true y'know" Takeo said.

"Ok, well gay has two meanings, let's just discus this over dinner before all the food gets cold" dad said as he flicked on the rest of the lights.

"Yes, you can have your interrogation after we eat" Mother added.

They all went back to their normal seats, we said grace and started eating.

"Ok, now explain yourself, tell us everything!" Nezuko demanded.

"Well, we met in kinda a weird way" I started, "I accidently fell into him and he fell and got hurt and I helped him to the nurses office and so on and so forth" I said.

"Wow, that was a really bad story" Shigeru said.

"I didn't say I was done" I said. "And then I wanted to get to know him, since I knew almost every person in the grade, and he was someone I didn't even know was in my class" I said.

"Way to be attentive Tanjirou" Hanako mumble.

"Besides the point" I continued, "I managed to befriend him, and I started getting feelings for him, he was not at all like I expected, he was something else completely. I told him how I felt, and he felt the same, so we started dating" I said.

"Well that was boring, I really thought that you'd give us a little more than that" Nezuko said, "But I guess I can't really blame you, Muichiro is as much of a twink as you can be"

"What's a twink?" I asked.

"Maybe it's better that you don't know" Nezuko said as she looked off to the side.
'I'll have to look it up' I thought.
