EVELYN AND PETER SAT IN A STUDY ROOM TYPING RAPIDLY ON THEIR LAPTOPS. There was much work to be done as their research paper was due in two weeks.

"I wonder how long it's gonna take the professor to grade these. We're working so hard, we deserve to know how we did!" Peter exclaimed.

"Mhm." Evelyn mumbled.

Peter was under the impression that their date was extremely successful. Evelyn thought the opposite but decided that she would continue to work with him for the research paper.

He would make a good friend after all. Peter was a bright spirit, she figured he might be able to bring some kind of positivity to her life.

"Are you almost done revising yours?" he asked.

Evelyn nodded.

"Yeah. I think I'll change my conclusion, though. I don't like what I originally wrote." she said.

Peter frowned.

"But when I read it, I thought it was great!" he said.

"Okay, but I don't like it. I don't think the professor will like it either." she replied.

Peter shook his head and sighed. He was getting tired and it was almost time for the library to close.

"I think I'm going to head out now." Evelyn said.

Peter watched as she began to pack her things up.

"What, why? The library doesn't close for another hour." Peter said, slightly whining.

"I just want to go home." Evelyn said.

Before Peter could even say goodbye, Evelyn walked out the door in what he could guess was a hurry.

But he noticed that she left something behind.

A pencil case.

Peter tried chasing Evelyn out of the library but found that she wasn't in the parking lot when he made his way outside.

Peter:

You left your pencil bag here! I can take it to you tomorrow!

Evelyn didn't respond for about fifteen minutes.

Evelyn:

That's fine, I'll send you the address tomorrow. Thanks.

Evelyn and Porco were moving around the kitchen, cleaning up after they had finished making their lunches for tomorrow.

She had informed Porco that Peter was going to come drop off her pencil case. Porco didn't say anything, he didn't really mind.

He was finally starting to get over his strange possessiveness.

That was until he heard that knock at the door.

Evelyn moved over to the door and twisted the lock. She opened the door and looked up at the man.

Porco stayed out of Peter's sight.

"Hey, sorry it's a bit late. I had work today and I just got off." Peter said.

"No worries. Thanks for bringing it." Evelyn said.

"Yeah, of course. Um, your apartment looks nice from here."

That was a funny statement considering the fact that the apartment was not decorated at all.

"Oh, thank you." she replied.

"So it doesn't bother you that she's talking to someone?" the thought returned to Porco's head.

It was loud, deafening almost. Why now of all times? Why did this come back to him as he witnessed Evelyn talk to Peter?

"Bye, Peter. Thanks, again." she said.

"No problem. See you soon, Evelyn." he said.

Evelyn closed the door and locked it back up. She set her pencil bag down on the counter and sighed with relief.

Evelyn turned around to go back to her room.

But she was shocked when she was met face to face with Porco.

His hazel eyes were staring into her soul and his face was closer to hers than it had ever been. He had grabbed onto her shirt, down by her waist. His chest heaving from his heavy breathing.

Evelyn didn't know what was happening or why her heart began racing.

"Porco?" she called softly.

The two stared at each other for another moment in the sheer silence.

"I... I don't know what I'm trying to say." he said nervously.

Evelyn took a deep breath and looked into his eyes. She could see the fear and uncertainty in them. This man, he was scared.

"You don't have to say anything." she replied.

They stood in silence for one more moment, a split second in time.

Porco wrapped his right arm around her lower waist and his left arm around her upper back. Gently, but with purpose, he pressed his lips to hers, closing his eyes.

Evelyn's eyes were slightly opened, and she didn't hesitate to kiss him back.

But it was clear that she was still uncertain about what was now happening.

After what seemed like an eternity, Porco pulled away, only to wrap his arms tighter and go back in for another kiss.

And this time, Evelyn felt like she was melting in his arms. His touch was warm, comforting, and it was something she had never felt before.

She placed her right hand on the back of his head and her left hand on his shoulder. She closed her eyes and kissed him with purpose.

They pulled away from each other and went in for another without opening their eyes.

And another.

And another.

And one more...

Until it wasn't.

Porco lifted her up and Evelyn wrapped her legs around Porco's waist, brain fogged and lost in the moment.

Not daring to stop kissing Evelyn, Porco walked into Evelyn's room and laid her down on her bed.

He finally pulled away from her and the two made eye contact for what seemed like the first time in forever. Dark blushes had crept onto both of their faces and their eyes remained locked on each other.

"Evelyn, if you don't-"

"You don't have to say anything."

And she pulled him back down, pressing their lips back together.
