Staring at the stars in utter darkness gives one a whole different wave of euphoria.
You're staring at an infinite bliss with nothing but the force of gravity keeping your feet on the ground.
Which, one could only wish upon a shooting star to reach those glowing rocks splattered everywhere.
She inhaled the fresh air of the midnight, taking in all the relaxation she could. She only had this time of her whole day, if not the whole week, to breathe out of her corset. She lays her hands on the edge of her terrace, the cold air hitting her red-flushed cheeks.
Still taking deep breaths, she wondered if there's another person looking at the stars the very second she is. Perhaps another lost soul with nothing but their shining little friends all far from their reach.
She smiles at herself as she thinks about the wholesome scene playing out.
She points her finger at one specific star, "That's Bellatrix" she whispers to herself.
"That's Meissa," she recites aloud as she's memorized all the stars in the constellation, Orion.
"Betelgeuse," she points at a different star.
"M78"
"Alnitak"
"Saiph" a manly voice recites in synch with her voice.
To her luck, that voice belonged to another lost soul a kingdom away from her, naming the stars too.
"Rigel" their voices still in synch, taken aback by the heavenly stars above them.
"Mintaka" his voice whispers to himself as his bare back is splayed on the ice-cold floor of his balcony.
"Alnilam" he points a different star.
"Sigma Orionis"
"and last but not the least" her sweet voice says softly. "Orion Nebula" their voices say in sync one last time.
He gets up from the ground after what seems to be hours, and heads to his desk beside a large antique window.
He stares at the letter placed on the desk with the precise words. The letter is right nonetheless, but he didn't have even a pinch of motivation to move himself from his chamber.
He had no choice but to obey, after all, she ordered it.
