Peeta and I had just arrived in the capitol to participate in the 75th hunger games.
It was horrible.
I just couldn't imagine having to be in the games again, and the worst part was that this time one of us had to die.

I went out of the lake with a smile. "Why are you so happy about?" Asked Finnick, clearly flirting. "The arena works like a clock..." I answered him. "What do you mean?" Johanna asked. "Every single thing that has happened to us happens at a specific hour and in a specific place...The fog happened at eleven in the eleventh section of the clock... then the monkeys at three..." I explained. "And the lighting at twelve." Beetee, the other tribute that had come with Johanna interrupted me. "So basically all we need to do is not to be in the affected sections." Finnick stated. "Exactly!" I said, smiling at him.
"These guys are out of mind, they think they can treat us like complete objects!" Said Johanna, referring to the capitol. Suddenly our conversation got interrupted by a gift falling from the sky. I was waiting to see were it was going to fall, when suddenly it landed in my hands.
"Maybe it's some help for your knee." Said Finnick. "I hope so..." I sighed. I opened the box and saw a cream for my knee. I put it on gasping at the pain, but happy at the same time. "There's something else in the box." Noticed Peeta and I took it out. "It's a note." I said and readed it. Peeta and Finnick looked at me with expecting eyes. "Haymitch is congratulating me for having found new allies and surprise, he's also complaining about our relationship!" I muttered. "They really got an eye on you!" Laughed Peeta. " There's something for you too!" I noticed, "Don't complain about Katniss if you're doing the same with Johanna!" I showed him the note with a mean smirk and he looked at me with an angry face.
"Well, what exactly is happening between you two?" Finnick asked. "Nothing!" Peeta answered, furiously. Johanna laughed in disbelieve. "Don't lie Peeta! I might have started the kiss but you know you have more feelings for me as I have for you." She laughed. Peeta looked at her with an angry look. There was a big tension between them, in a point between attraction and angriness.
Suddenly I heard Prim calling me. I knew she wasn't there and that she was safe at home, but a feeling of fear took control of my body and I ran into the jungle. "Katniss!" Called me Finnick, but I was already gone. I saw a few birds as I kept running and got stressed. The sound was getting louder and louder, and I was really suffering. I didn't even know if I was in the games or at home anymore and began to lose consciousness of where I was and suddenly I started to shout, covering my ears. The birds were surrounding me and shouting at me with Prim's voice. It was horrible, because although a part of me knew it wasn't really Prim, I was still completely clueless. I started to shout in pain as I couldn't stand it anymore, but it only got worse.
Promptly I heard Finnick shouting my name, as desperate as me. "Finnick!" I shouted. "Katniss!" I heard him shout back. I headed to him when suddenly the birds started to use his voice. I didn't know where he was anymore, so I kept running and shouting his name. After a while a saw him in front of me and tried to reach him, but there was a barrier between us. "Katniss!" I saw his lips saying. "Finnick!" I shouted back. We hitted the barrier in order to be with each other, but it only helped to make us more tired. We both started to shout and suddenly I fainted out of tiredness.
"Katniss." I heard Finnick say with a soothing voice. I shouted as I woke up. "Shh...." He said and kissed me while he caressed my head. "It's over...." He continued. I put my lips on his and kissed him back. It was a slow and passionate kiss full of love and attraction. Suddenly a fireball fell down near us. I shouted, scared. "They really want to stop us." Finnick pointed out. "These people are just crazy!" Johanna said and a big feeling of furiousness invaded my body.
"We have to stop the games..." He promptly said. "That's crazy.... we can't offend the capitol like that..." Peeta answered him. "If we stay in the games we'll have to see each other die... In the worst of the cases we could even end up killing each other, and trust me you would never forgive yourself for killing me or Johanna..." I deduced. "So what are you suggesting to do?" Johanna asked Finnick. "Do you have a plan Beete?" He asked. "Yes, but we would have to talk about it in a safer place... If the capitol hears that we would be in serious trouble." He whispered in a concerned tone of voice.
We went to a safer place in the jungle, and he started telling us about his plan. "See this tree? At twelve o clock a lightning will go through it. My idea is to do a cable system and connect it to the tree. We can connect the other side to one of Katniss's arrows and when the lightining enters the tree, Katniss will have to throw her arrow to the air, causing the barier to explode. This may be dangerous, but it's a really good option and it will probably give us the time to escape before the capitol discovers what has hapened." We agreed with his idea and headed to the tree.
"Finnick you go with Peeta to ensure no one else approaches the three. Katniss you stay here with Johanna watching the tree." Beete exclamated and started to prepare the cable system. We complained a little but made what he had asked us to do.
Half an hour later Finnick and Peeta were in the beach and I was alone with Johanna. "When you throw that arrow, we'll be free...We're going to love whoever we want and do whatever we want with no one judging us!" Johanna said, with a bright smile, but all I could manage to do was smile her back. I was really happy about being free, just as everyone else, but at the same time I was very scared. What if Finnick died? What if the capitol separated us? Everything could go wrong and I was completly terrified about it. I looked at my clock and noticed it was 11:30 am. Just half an hour left for the chaos.
Suddenly I saw two tributes approach and a loud bang sounded. I started to hyperventilate as I noticed it could be Finnick. I started to run to the beach, but Johanna ran after me. "Katniss, it's too late!" She yelled, "You have to stay here and brake the barier!" "No!" I yelled back, almost crying. Another bang clang and suddenly a tribute appeared from behind. I felt his breath and threw an arrow at him, causing his death and making another bang sound. I fell on the floor as big tears fell down my cheek. I started to shout in pain. I didn't know what was happening and it was really possible that the men I loved was death. My head began to hurt a lot and a big pressure went down my body when suddenly I heard someone calling me. "Katniss!" For my surprise, It was Finnick. "Finnick!" I shouted back. I ran in the direction of his voice and finally found him. "Katniss, throw the arrow!" He shouted. I did so and ran to where he was, but just when I was a few steps distanced from him the barier exploded, throwing me at the floor and leaving me unconscious.
