Kenma's POV

Kuroo wasn't actually a bad cook. Breakfast was pretty nice.. and of course it was nice that he made it for me. But I made him let me help clean up afterwards. After everything was cleaned up, I quietly looked over at Kuroo and tugged at his sleeve.

"Is there something you want kitten?"

"...Are you busy today?"

"Nope."

"..Can we cuddle and watch a movie then?" I asked, Kuroo grinning.

"For a kiss." He said. I pouted slightly before nodding. Kuroo closed his eyes and leaned forward, but I smiled slightly and picked Butterscotch up and held him in front of me.

Kuroo widened his eyes as Butterscotch meowed and pushed Kuroo's face away with his paw

Kuroo widened his eyes as Butterscotch meowed and pushed Kuroo's face away with his paw. I burst out laughing, Kuroo letting out a tiny growl before moving around Butterscotch and giving me a kiss.

"Hmph. Come on." Kuroo said as he took Butterscotch and set him down. I smiled slightly and watched my cat run off towards the futon with us. Kuroo sat down while I grabbed the remote. I could sit by Kuroo. But why do that when I can sit in his lap?

I made myself comfortable and let Kuroo wrap his arms around my waist. While I was flipping through channels, Butterscotch hopped up and curled up into a ball in my lap. I laid one hand on him as I settled on a movie. Kuroo put the remote aside for me while I focused on watching the movie and snuggling into Kuroo's chest.

Halfway through the movie, I grabbed my phone to look through it. I was always getting new messages or comments, so I'd take a look often. Kuroo looked over my shoulder with me before getting bored. I assumed he just went back to watching the movie, but I startled a bit when he kissed my neck.

"Kuroo.."

"Yeah?"

"Stop it.. I'm busy." I grumbled, going back to responding to an email. Kuroo chuckled, keeping his lips to himself before I felt him kiss the back of my neck at a much more sensitive spot. I shivered slightly, turning my head.

"Kuroo...!"

"Uh huh?"

"I said stop..."

"Are you sure you want me to?"

"..."

"You gotta tell me kitten." He teased, making me huff. No, I didn't want him to stop, but if he doesn't, we might be in some trouble.

Kuroo's POV

I smiled as I placed another kiss on the back of Kenma's neck. I could feel goosebumps appear along his skin and his body getting warmer. Butterscotch long abandoned us and ran off somewhere. I was just about to slip my hand up under his shirt when I heard my phone ring.

"....You probably should go get that." Kenma mumbled. I was tempted to ignore the call but I nodded and set Kenma down as I went to go grab my phone I had left in his room. I looked at the caller ID before answering.

"Hello?"

"Hey hey hey did you look at the news lately?"

"Since when do you look at the news, Bokuto?"

"Never. Keiji showed it to me."

"Fair enough. Anyway, what is it?"

"Here I'll send you the article." He said before hanging up. I blinked a few times before checking my phone messages. I clicked the link that he sent before furrowing my brows. I read through it while wandering back down towards Kenma.

"What are you looking at Kuroo?" He asked as I sat back down. Kenma climbed back into my lap as I showed him my phone. He tilted his head before looking back at me.

"They wouldn't make everyone do cutoffs, would they?"

"I don't know. I've never heard of this before. People who did cutoffs were always considered as bad. So, why would the government be talking about making everyone do it now?"

"Says here it's because they believe that soulmates depress our freedom. But, a lot of people like who they end up with."

"Well... Right now, it's just talk. Let's hope they don't actually do it." I grumbled, putting my phone aside. I mean, if they did start making us all cutoff from our soulmates, surely they couldn't stop us from still being together with them. So, maybe it won't matter...

Kenma turned around in my lap, looking up at me. I tilted my head before laughing faintly when he let his head flop against my shoulder. Kenma seemed a little bit worried, but, who knows what would happen. I gently tangled my fingers through his hair and kissed the top of his head.

"Are you okay, Kenma?"

"Yeah.." He mumbled quietly before kissing against my neck. I smiled and stayed quiet, letting him do what he liked before glancing over at my phone lying on the futon by us.

What reason would they have for making all of us do cutoffs? Allowing our fates to lead us to our soulmates has been around for centuries. And it doesn't exactly suppress our freedom to chose who we like. I mean, the cutoff has always been a choice. I don't like the idea of being forced to do it.

But again, Kenma and I already have found each other. So, if we had to do it, would we just go in for the appointment, and then come back home together? Or would we not care for each other anymore? Was all this just cause of fate, and, if it was.. then if that was taken away...

"Hey Kenma..?"

"Uh huh?" He said, pulling himself back a bit to look up at me. I leaned down, giving him a soft kiss.

"I want to give you something."

"What is it?" He asked curiously. I gently grabbed his hand after I slipped a ring off of my finger. I had several on, but this one was the most special to me. I slid it on to Kenma's ring finger, which fit since this one was actually a ring I wore on my smallest finger.

"Here. I want you to have this. And you'd better not lose it. I don't want it back." I said with a small smile and wink. Kenma looked at the ring before blushing and smiling.

"I promise."
