Kuroo's POV

I, guess, I felt a bit better now that I had taken my medication. But Tsukishima went out. I told him that it was fine, and it was. I didn't mind. He shouldn't have to be stuck here because of me. But now I was just back to square one of being bored and lonely.

I lifted my head up when I heard noise outside my door. What was that? It was raining outside now. I dragged myself out of bed and over to my door and looked outside. Okay. There was nothing here? I shut the door again and went back to my room when the noise kept going.

What the hell is in my house? I looked around but there was nothing here. I slowly sat back onto my bed before spotting something outside my window. I nearly had a fucking heart attack before seeing it was a cat. Quickly, I got up and opened the window, pulling the cat inside.

"Hey, you're Kenma's cat. What are you doing back here? And in the rain.." I grumbled, carrying the cat off to my bathroom and grabbing a towel. I laid the towel down as the cat rolled around in the towel to dry off as much as he could.

"I'm sure Kenma's worried about you." I said with a sigh, shaking my head. I kneeled down, the cat opening it's mouth.

"What the heck do you have in here." I said as he spit something out.

"...Ew." I said, picking up the soggy piece of paper. Okay, maybe not soggy but, crumpled and kinda damp from being in a cat's mouth. I unfolded the paper and saw a number written on it.

"What's with you and paper?" I asked, the cat meowing at me and wandering off.

"Hey, come back here. I didn't say you could leave!" I said and followed the cat. He jumped up onto my bed and started rolling around, meowing insanely loud.

"Will you shut up...!" I grumbled, picking the cat up to find him rolling all over my phone. I set him aside and tapped my fingers. Huh.

*Dials the number*

"H-hello?"

"Hi. Uh, is this Kenma?"

"Yeah..."

"I uh, found your cat again."

"Really? Where is he..!"

"He showed up at my place."

"Did he? I'm sorry... I can come get him if you tell me your-" I heard thunder, both over the phone and outside my window. Along with the thunder, I heard Kenma whimper.

"Are you outside in this weather?"

"Yeah, I didn't want Butterscotch getting lost..."

"Where are you? I can come pick you up so you can get him." I offered, Kenma telling me where he was. I looked over at the cat before sighing and hanging up the phone.

"Okay. I'm gonna go get your owner. I would bring you along, but I don't have any kind of carrier, so.... stay here or something and I'll be back in like 10 minutes." I said, grabbing my jacket and shoes before rushing out. The rain was picking up and was turning a bit into a storm.

I turned my brights on to try and find Kenma in this mess. Finally, when I got to where he told me he was, I unlocked my passenger door and waved him over. He rushed over and climbed into the car, his hair and clothes soaked.

"You okay?" I asked, turning the car around to head back to my place.

"Y-yeah. I'm okay." He said quietly. I glanced at him before just taking him home.

Kenma's POV

"Butterscotch... Why do you keep running away from me? Do you hate me that much?" I said, petting him when I got to Kuroo's place. Butterscotch meowed and purred as I pet him. Kuroo looked over at me when I sneezed.

"Are you sure you're okay?"

"Uh huh. Sorry. I can get him home now." I said, but Kuroo shook his head.

"You sound sick. And the rain only got worse. Why don't you stay here and I'll drive you both back in the morning if the rain has let up?"

"Oh... You don't have to." I said, feeling a bit strange around Kuroo knowing he and I used to be soulmates.

"Don't worry about it. My boyfriend is staying the night with a friend of his cause of the weather. So he won't be back till tomorrow anyway. Here's a change of clothes." Kuroo said, setting down some of his clothes onto his bed.

He left the room after giving me a few towels so I could change. I sighed, pulling my wet clothes off and drying myself and my hair the best I could while pulling on the dry and warm clothes. I sighed and looked at Butterscotch while I put my wet clothing where Kuroo told me to put them.

"Really, do you hate me or something? First you run off to someone's house. And now you ran off to come here. I'm the one who feeds you!" I said, Butterscotch blinking slowly at me before flipping the end of his tail where he sat. I sighed, rolling my eyes and picking him up.

"At least Kuroo keeps finding you. I don't know what I'd do if I lost you for good." I said, telling Kuroo he could come back in. He walked in with a smile, grabbing a blanket and pillow off his bed.

"Better?"

"Yeah.. Thank you."

"Sure. You can sleep in my bed. I'll stay on the couch."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah, make yourself comfortable.... Hey, where'd you get that ring?" He asked, pointing to the ring on my finger that Butterscotch was pawing at. I looked at it before back at Kuroo.

"Oh, I don't remember. I got it a long time ago probably. Why?"

"Just curious. Looks like a ring I lost ages ago. It was an important ring to me.."

"Why?"

"I have a lot of rings, but I remember when I turned 18, I bought that ring to give to my soulmate when I found her, or him. But, guess I lost it or something after the whole cutoff thing." Kuroo said with a smile.

"Oh... I see. I'm sorry you lost it."

"Don't be. Doesn't matter anymore. Anyway, have a goodnight." He said, leaving the room. I slowly climbed into his bed and underneath his covers before looking at my hand. Did Kuroo give this to me? Maybe, it'd make sense if that's what he was saving it for and I don't remember buying it. But then, why don't I remember him giving it to me?? Oh well. Doesn't matter. He and I aren't soulmates anymore.
