Day Time Skip: Kenma's POV

I sighed, petting my cat goodbye before heading out the door. I'd have to go out with Kuroo this weekend. And I wasn't too sure how I felt about it. I mean, he seemed quite the opposite of me.. But I had someone to talk to about it at least.

"HI KENMA!"

"Hi Shoyo." I said with a small smile, greeting my friend. Last night, I had called and asked if he would spend today with me, and luckily he was available.

"How are you doing??? So tell me about yesterday?? You said you finally met your soulmate!?"

"Yeah..."

"Huh? You don't sound very excited about it?"

"Well, that's why I wanted to talk to you today."

"Oh?"

"He and I seem like complete opposites."

"Really?"

"Yeah. And I don't know what to do. I mean, you and Kageyama are opposites, aren't you?"

"Well, in a way kinda, but we get along really well."

"I know. So.. How did you do it?" I asked as we walked together. Hinata hummed and tilted his head in thought.

"Well you have to give him a chance. You just met him yesterday and didn't really get to spend any time with him right?"

"Not really. But he asked me to go out somewhere with him this weekend."

"Did you say yes?"

"Yeah.."

"Then get to know him! I mean, Kageyama and I are kinda different. And we kinda argued a lot when we first found each other. But now look at us!"

"Did you two ever consider doing the cutoff?"

"We did once, actually."

"Really?"

"Uh huh! But we decided to stick with each other and we ended up falling in love." Hinata said all happily. I smiled faintly at his enthusiasm. I remember when he first found Kageyama. The two did bicker like there was no tomorrow. However, I knew full well that now they were talking of marriage. And I was happy for them. Kageyama made Hinata happy.

But could Kuroo and I be happy? Maybe it'd turn out well. Who knows. But, I guess we can see what will happen over the weekend. If I was going to be honest, I hope it does work out. I didn't particularly like being alone. I don't like most people, but, to have one person who I love and who loves me would be amazing.

And if Kuroo was supposed to be the one, and we end up falling in Love like fate wants us to, then, I'd accept it. I guess.

Kuroo's POV

"Hey, you busy?"

"Not at the moment no. What's up?"

"Can we meet up?"

"Sure. Gotta give me some time though."

"Oh, sorry. Were you busy or something?"

"...Sorta."

"You know what- never mind. Meet me at the cafe in an hour?"

"Sure, see you then." I hung up the phone and sighed. I wasn't so sure how I felt about Kenma still. I mean, I want to give him a chance, that's the whole reason I had asked him out this weekend, but I wasn't looking forward to it. Who knows if it'll be any fun or lead to anything.

Maybe he and I would even consider doing a cutoff. And I wasn't too sure about that either... I mean, a lot of people looked down on cutoffs. But then they had the freedom to chose their own husbands or wives, and they usually seemed happy. And Bokuto would be a good person to ask since he and Akaashi found each other years ago.

An hour later

"Hey, so, why'd ya want to meet up?" Bokuto asked as he sat down with me. I looked over at him before sighing.

"I was curious about something..."

"Is everything okay?"

"Remember how I told you that I found my soulmate?"

"Yeah?"

"He and I are gonna go out this weekend. But, he and I already don't seem super compatible."

"Really?"

"Well, by first glance. So, I was just curious. What was it like when you decided to do a cutoff?"

"Ohhhhh. It was weird.. it left you feeling a kind of, empty feeling.. It wasn't exactly great at first. In fact it was kinda horrible, not gonna lie to you. But, when I found Akaashi. God, it was like my whole world just spun back on track.."

"Really?"

"Yeah. I felt an immediate closer connection to him than I did my "soulmate" when I first met her."

"Was it mutual?"

"Yeah, she felt the same way. She wasn't too interested in me and I wasn't too interested in her. She was too stuck up." Bokuto said with a wave of his hand. I smiled faintly and nodded before sighing.

"Sounds like you guys made the right decision then."

"I think so."

"How long was it until you found Akaashi?"

"It took a few years."

"Wow.."

"Hey, there's places and such for cutoffs to go meet each other. So, IF you and Kenma decided to do that, then, go there."

"I guess so."

"Hey, I think you should give him a good chance though. I mean, most people, it works out great. Even if it doesn't seem like it at first. And if it truly doesn't end up working out, then.. talk to him about it." Bokuto said with a small smile. I nodded, smiling and patting his shoulder.

"Thanks for the advice." I said with a sigh. Bokuto might be a bit, "special" at times. But he was my best friend, and he knew a lot more when it came to love than I would've thought.
