Few Weeks Time Skip: Kuroo's POV
Well, it didn't take long for Kenma's fans and followers to find out we were dating. Not like we really tried to hide it though. Kenma made a video announcing it, and his fans went kinda nuts over it. Not that I blame them.
Do ya like my drawing? :D
Kenma still kept his videos mostly as video games and stuff, but there were a couple videos now with me in them. He even was doing requested videos from his fans with me in them. One of them was something like "boyfriend does my makeup". Kenma and I didn't really wear makeup, but about a week into dating, I found Kenma putting on some slight eyeshadow.
I had nothing against him wearing it. It actually looked so nice on him. Guess his fans knew too, so they asked me to do his makeup for him. Kenma had to go out and buy some other makeup products for me to use on him, so I did... It looked awful honestly, but we had fun in the video and it became one of his most popular videos pretty quick.
Everything seemed fine.. Kenma right now was cuddling in my lap, playing some game with Butterscotch sleeping in his lap. But that whole cutoff thing was spreading quicker. It was even becoming a requirement at some places. They said it was being required because people who were still attached to their soulmates were too distracted and would need to be separated to work.
It wouldn't affect Kenma's job, he was basically self employed. But it could affect my job. It already was. My boss knew I had a soulmate, and he asked me if we had done the cutoff. I couldn't really lie since the mark on my wrist gave me away, but when he saw it, he did have a bit of a disapproving look.
When I sighed, Kenma paused his game and turned his head. He looked up at me and tilted his head a little bit.
"You good?" he asked calmly. I laughed faintly, kissing his cheek with a nod. Kenma knew I was worried about the whole thing. I could tell he was worried too. But, we both tried to pretend nothing was wrong. Though we'd have to face it eventually.
"I'm okay.. Kenma... Do you think that we should make an appointment? You know, before someone comes breaking down our door and making us?"
"...I really don't want to."
"I don't want to either.. Alright... We'll hold it off as long as we can, okay??" I said, Kenma nodding and setting his game aside. Butterscotch meowed and wandered off as Kenma turned around in my lap.
Kenma rested his forehead against my chest while fiddling with the ring I gave him. I guess this was a habit he picked up. I could tell he was feeling anxious now... I didn't mean to upset him. I wasn't sure if we actually should get an appointment before being made to. But, if he didn't want to, then we won't. It's not like I wanted to either.
"Hey kitten? Why don't we go out?"
"Mm..."
"Yes, you can bring Butterscotch. Not that you would not do it if I asked you to." I said with a small laugh, Kenma smiling slightly and shrugging.
"Okay. Gimme your hoodie." He demanded, tugging at my sleeve. I laughed, slipping my hoodie off and giving it to Kenma. While he was busy putting it on, I adjusted my shirt underneath that was a bit wrinkly now. Once Kenma was "changed", he nodded in affirmation.
"Okay. I'm good." He said, though he didn't move. I smiled slightly, nodding and picking him up. It was a bit of a struggle since we were on the floor, but Kenma was light and he held on tight so he wouldn't fall.
My boyfriend was demanding, so I basically had to carry him around until he was fully ready to go. Butterscotch was comfortable in his little bag Kenma had and Kenma had some of his hair tied back before we actually got outside.
Kenma held my hand while sticking close. I walked quietly before noticing there was a new building being put up. Kenma and I stopped for a moment to look at it, seeing it was some sort of, club? Kenma and I both looked at each other, having a decent idea what the club would be for. But we chose to ignore it.
"Kuroo. I'm tired." Kenma said, making me chuckle.
"Okay, come on let's go sit and get a drink or something." I said, pulling him over to a nearby little restaurant. We sat outside, Kenma moving the bag with Butterscotch onto his lap. We sat together, trying to get our minds off of everything aside from each other. Then I started thinking...
Say we do have to do the cutoff, by some sort of weird mandatory law to work. I already know it wouldn't really need to happen to Kenma since he didn't exactly have an employer, he was his own boss. He did all his editing and recording and stuff pretty much by himself. Once in a while I would help, but he was independent. And he was able to make money by making these videos.
"Hey Kenma??"
"Uh huh?"
"Um.. Do you think that I should try and make videos too..??"
