Part 16 (I am so sorry)

"Big brother....?" I heard Eri mumble from behind me, I turned around with Toshi still sitting on my lap "Morning sleepyhead...." I said "Who is he?" She asked pointing at Toshi, he was staring at her with a shy look but he quickly turned away when he saw her pointing at him "This is Toshi, Toshi this is my little sister Eri" I told him "Hi Toshi! Nice to meet you" She said excited, I took a glance at Mic who ave me a look telling me she hadn't heard the bad news yet. "Hi..." Was all Toshi said "Why do you look sad?" Eri asked me "Eri... We have some.. Bad news.." Her smile faded and she looked at Mic "Bad... News?.." I nodded as she looked back and forth between me and Mic "Is it.. is it about Dadzawa?" again I nodded and I saw tears welling up in her eyes "Eri.... He.. might not make it...." A tear rolled down her cheek as she ran towards the window. "Why?..." She asked, she turned around and looked at me, tears streaming down her face. I put down Toshi and got up to walk towards her "We're not sure yet... He might live..." I told her crouching down and wiping some of her tears. She hugged me and didn't let go for a while "Please let Dadzawa live...." She whispered, I felt a tear rolling down my own cheek as I picked her up and set her down on the same chair as Toshi. I heard the door behind me open and one of the doctors came out "How is he?" I immediately asked, my heart dropped as the man shook his head "We did everything we could..." Mic stood up "I'm sorry for your loss..." He told me "Wha-? Y-you're kidding r-right?" Mic asked, he went to stand next to me "You can go see him now..." The doctor said before stepping out of the way revealing Aizawa paler then ever, the bandages had been removed and he looked like how he usually did when he was sleeping. "Thank you for everything..." I said as Mic walked into the room. The doctor left and Denki and Eri also got up "Is Dadzawa ok?" Eri asked, I shook my head and again tears started streaming down her face. "I'm so, so sorry baby..." Denki told me as I clanged my fists in the hope not to cry. Despite those efforts the moment Denki hugged me I felt my eyes starting to tear "Mic..." I murmured and Denki let go "Dad... I-" "I'm alright..." He interrupted me "Shota wouldn't want us to cry about him..." He said wiping his eyes dry "You're right..." I mumbled also wiping my eyes "Dadzawa isn't waking up is he..?" Eri asked, I shook my head "I'm sorry Eri..." I said, before I could do anything else Toshi got up, walked to her and gave her a firm looking hug. "Better?" He asked when he let go, Eri nodded and gave him a hug as well. "I see you two are already friends..." I said managing a fake smile, Eri nodded and hugged me as well "Thanks Eri" I told her, she looked up and also managed a smile through the tears "I'll miss him.." She said before turning around to face Mic "I'll be strong for papa" She said and also hugged him "Eri..." He managed to say, his voice broke and he sank to his knies "Please don't cry papa... I don't like it when you cry.." Mic did start crying again and Eri hugged him even tighter. I walked to the bed myself and put my hand over his, it was freezing cold "Goodbye dad..." I murmured, Mic looked up at me "Please... Stay at our place for the night..." He said, I nodded and looked at Denki who also nodded "I'll drive home to get some of our stuff" he said before leaving the room.

"Thank you for staying over..." Mic said as we all entered the house. "You're welcome" I told him before closing the door behind me. "You... can take your old room... Toshi can have mine, I'll sleep on the couch.." Mic said but Toshi shook his head and said: "No!! You're sad.. You take the bedroom, I can sleep on the couch!" Mic smiled and crouched down "It's alright Kiddo..." Still Toshi kept Shaking his head, his green eyes looked up at me "Tell him! I can take the couch!!" Mic also looked at me with a look that already told me he wasn't going to change his mind "You heard him dad, he can take the couch" Mic shook his head and got up again. "I already said it's fine, I take the couch" Toshi looked at Denki who shook his head "Sorry Kid, if Hitoshi can't convince him I most certainly can't" Toshi groaned and went to stand behind me legs "Are you mad at me?" I asked him smiling, he groaned again and I stifled a laugh. "Fine, I'll take the bed.." Mic said smiling, Toshi looked up and peaked at him from behind my legs. "Really?..." Mic nodded and Toshi smiled as well "You're weak dad." I told him. "I know" Mic looked up at me, "Well, we'll just go settle in." I told him before taking our stuff and going into my old room.
"I'm going to train for a bit..." I said after some time. "Why now?" Denki asked looking up from his laptop "I just... have to.." I told him and went into the private training room. Once the door was locked I started kicking one of the punching bags "If you want to get in my class you'll have to work harder!" That was one of the orders Aizawa had given me before I even managed to enter class 1A when I was 16. I kept punching the bag and hearing the memories "Look it's a cat!!" I heard my own voice say, I despite myself smiled at the trick I'd used to distract him. "I can't believe you fell for that!!" I laughed a bit and started letting all my anger out on the punching bag "Smart one, but I won't fall for it again." Aizawa had told me. I stopped punching and walked to the wall where my dad's old capture weapon hung "You can use this when you're ready" I smiled and took it off the wall "It takes practice to use such a weapon Shinsou, have patience" I remembered him telling me. After about an hour of training Mic entered the room "Shinsou, Denki told me you were in here..." He looked at the punching bag "I'm pretty sure it wasn't that worn out this morning...." I shrugged "I needed something to take my anger out on... Sorry I didn't mean to break it" I told him with an awkward smile. "It's fine, I came to say that dinner is ready" "I'll be right there, let me just change real quick.." He nodded and walked out.
