What's that noise? It's a beeping noise. Like a heart monitor.

I slowly open my eyes to be in a dark room and I look down to see an I.V line and more wires. I acknowledge my bandaged body and see a leg cast. The red stitches are gone.

Everything is still hazy but I can still feel a hint of pain and soreness all over my body. Even if it's dark, I still squint and feel around for a button to push to see what has happened.

Where's Juuzou? Where's Shinohara?

I find the remote and push the button for what I assume is the nurse's button. It makes a beeping sound for a while and I see multiple people come in.

"L/n is awake" A nurse says.

"Bright and early, y/n" a doctor says.

"What's going on? What day is it?" The doctor scribbles down data while his eyes stay on my monitors.

"Well it's been three days since that fight against The Owl," He starts, a bit distracted. "We were a bit scared of your recovery especially with your leg and the chances were not good with your injuries but it seems like you pulled through good, your stats are good but we're going to keep you here for a while more."

"Visitors have been coming and going but they'll be informed of you waking up and the hours will start soon," the nurse chimes in. "I bet you're hungry."

"Um thank you" I tell her. The other two nurses make sure my bandages are clean and in place. "Is Juuzou okay? Juuzou Suzuya?"

"Hm? Oh him," The doctor sighs and closes my chart. "He's fine, he pulled through very quickly and successfully but his guardian is unfortunately in a coma."

Shinohara?! My bottom lip quivers and a lump in my throat forms. That day didn't even seem real. This still doesn't feel real. Is this actually happening? Is Shinohara going to wake up soon?

A few tears escape from my eyes but I just nod and thank him for the information.

"We'll let you rest for a while and we'll be happy to answer any more questions, will you be okay for visiting hours?" She asks.

"Yeah I'll be okay, thank you" And with that, they all leave and I'm alone in my room. I slightly turn my head to face the window and see the beginning of a sun rise. I slept for three straight days. The doctor says I'm doing good so there's not much to worry. Apparently, Juuzou had been staying around the hospital as late as he could until he had to be escorted every night. He didn't fight back with him but he wasn't moving either.

He hadn't come to visit me or at least that is what the doctor had told me. My leg will be fine to walk on with physical therapy which I almost cried in relief. The bandages soon came off but the cast stayed on. I wasn't able to leave my room for a while for recovery but every time the door opened, I hoped to see my white haired companion only to be met with white coats. Why hadn't he come to visit me? Shinohara being in a coma must be killing him though.

I've had no other visitors either like Touka, Kaneki, and Hide. It hurt a little to not be visited by anyone. I was just alone in my room for hours upon hours with just soreness to accompany me. I realize that Touka and Kaneki must be laying low for now and I have no phone with me to even contact Hide on which hospital I'm in. The nurse comes in and greets me.

"Afternoon Y/n, how are we feeling today?" She asks, fixing some monitors and my pillow.

"Better today, Makoto" I huff. She gives me a sympathetic smile and continues her updates on the chart.

"I know it's hard to be in this room," She sighs. "You know... I can ask the doctor to bring a wheelchair for you to at least get out of the room?"

This isn't the first time I've been offered this. I plainly didn't feel like stepping out of my room but what was I do busy doing that I couldn't try to do that?
