Scraping yourself on the pavement from falling off a bike or skateboard would hurt so much. Never did I think I'd experience the pain from falling from a window onto the hard concrete. Neither did I think I'd be able to get up and run but it must be the adrenaline keeping me going.
My legs carried me down the streets, cutting into alleys and going back on the main street but everything was so empty. No one was out and almost everyone's lights were off. The doves were really serious about this. Kaneki told me to stay inside but that's not an option anymore. I feel my pocket for my phone and thank god it's there. I hope it's not crushed.
"Where are you?!" I hear. It's Touka's brother. "I'm fucking hungry!"
I should go to Anteiku. I start running again, taking cover as much as I can. Hopefully he's off to find someone else to eat. Her brother must've left since I made it to the cafe but it was closed. The windows were even closed but I still pounded on it.
"Kaneki! Touka!" I yell, pounding on the door. The hair on the back of my neck stands up so I stopped immediately. Someone is here. In horror, I turn around to see Touka's brother. A gasp escapes my mouth as I start to pound on the door some more. Damn it.
"You're so lucky I have to go" He hisses before sprinting away. I try to control my breathing as I slide down to the floor and observe my leg. The pain rushes in like water and I yell and groan.
"Damn it!" I cry out. "Hnng... I need my phone."
I start to crawl to get a better hiding spot. I can feel the wheezes in my chest. Broken rib or two possibly. My fingers go into my pocket and take out my phone. The screen is cracked horribly but it still works. I try to tap to the phone app while it lags and glitches.
"Come on... come on" I groan.
Calling Shinohara...
It rings forever but then it goes to voicemail. Damn it! I try to pick myself up and I wheeze as leg pains me so much.
Where's Juuzou?
I prop myself up and use the buildings as support as I stumble and limp towards any other human interaction and help.

I haven't paid attention to direction. I don't really know where I am but I've seen a couple of doves pass by on top of buildings so I followed them. A loud roar fills the empty streets and I visibly flinch. What the fuck was that?!
The roar continues and the sound of men hurting and getting hit is heard. I arrive to the building with all the doves on it with a... really huge ghoul.
"The... Owl" I gasp.
"Shinohara-san!" I hear. That sounds like Juuzou. I find an entrance into the building and start making my way to the top, hoping there aren't any ghouls hidden. This hurts. Everything hurts!
I make it to what seems like the entrance to the roof and open it to be in front of the The Owl. Their kagune is... huge. The four horns are terrifying and his big grin is sure to give me nightmares. I look for my people and see Juuzou frozen on the ground. He's looking at someone.
I follow his gaze and see Shinohara-san on the ground.
"S-Shino-" The owl proceeds to Juuzou and I gasp. Move Juuzou! Fight! My eyes brim with tears and I take a step. The Owl raises its spike and I almost run as they strike down but in a blink of an eye, Shinohara-san blocks it, no it went right through him!
"Shinohara-san... ?" Juuzou mutters. I cover my mouth and the tears spill down to my cheeks. I can't do anything! Juuzou reaches for Shinohara but The Owl swings at him and throws Juuzou into a pile of metal pipes.
"Ju-" Pain strikes me and I groan. The Owl emits a loud noise and Juuzou's face is just full of shock that it makes me want to bring him home, but I can't. Suddenly, Juuzou gets on his feet and I notice his dislocated leg. He starts to run towards the ghoul with his quinque in hand. No! Stop!
Juuzou falls but gets back up. I look at my leg to see it leaking more blood. Oh no. I look up to see Juuzou kneeling and panting on the ground before letting out a blood curdling scream. It makes me visibly jump and I take a few steps.
"Juuzou" I mutter. "Juuzou!"
I scream his name and the ghoul turns around. I freeze again and watch as it raises a spike and the impact just hurts but not has much as hitting the wall of the roof. I shriek at the impact and cry. My body turns itself and I see Juuzou going at the ghoul over and over. It's hard to breathe and it's hard to watch.
Stop it. Run! I notice a man with white hair and white coat on the roof. Was he always here? Juuzou is about to collapse until the man catches him and lays him gently on the ground. I only focus on Juuzou and extend a hand out to him but it falls.
It feels like my body is about to give up on me and then everything is suddenly dark.
