Brave new world

Chapter 4

Gabriel's POV:

We swam towards the shore. Echo and I looked around confused but strangely enough Hope seemed kind of relieved to be here- wherever here was.

"What is this place?" I asked trying to figure out where the hell we were.

Hope smirked at me, "Welcome to Skyring."

"Skyring? Can you please explain?"

"This is the planet that I grew up on. Mum and aunty O raised me here, we had a great life. Until the disciples came here and took them away."

"How do you remember all of these? I thought you had forgotten everything." Echo chipped in looking at Hope suspiciously.

"I forgot everything because I went through the anomaly without a helmet on. Time runs differently here from Sanctum so whatever happens here, it's like it didn't happen at all unless you're wearing protective gear. For some reason being here brought my memories back."

"Okay so what are the disciples then?" I urged her to continue the story where she had left off before Echo cut her off.

"They are the people from Bardo. Bardo is another planet and they have perfected travelling through the anomaly. I don't know exactly what they wanted from Octavia to get her for a second time but it must mean that whatever she knows is important."

"So what do we do now?" Echo asked sounding bitter, looking at Hope.

"Uhm, well I'm not sure yet."

Suddenly we heard a twig snap and we froze. We turned around and saw a man walking through the woods. He hadn't seemed to notice us and I intended to keep it that way.

"Come, quick inside this cabin!" Hope shouted-whispered at us and without questions we followed her inside it.

Once we were safe in there Hope turned to us with a huge smile on her face.

"I know exactly how to get us off this planet and go to Bardo to save Octavia and my mum."

"Ookayy and what is your genius plan exactly?" Echo raised one eyebrow while saying this, obviously not trusting Hope.

"That man. He is my plan. He's probably a prisoner here, which means that some disciples will come to collect him once his time is done and then we will be able to go through the anomaly. There is one small problem though. We will need his help to do that soo get ready to make a new friend."

We were walking through the woods trying to find our mystery man, who according to Hope was our only way out.

Hope was leading the way trying to track the man.  Echo was looking at her curiously, almost impressed by Hope's talent at tracking and asked, "Who taught you how to track?"

"The girl you stabbed and kicked over a cliff."

"It's a little more complicated than that."

"That sounds like an interesting story." I butted in.

Hope looked Echo straight in the eye.

"You just heard it. The spy stabbed her boyfriend's sister and kicked her over a cliff."

"I liked you better without memory." Echo spat and rolled her eyes at Hope.

"Girls stop arguing I think I heard something." I interrupted them.

True to my words we soon saw the man sitting alone, talking to himself and playing chess.

We carefully approached him and Hope was the first one to talk, "Uhm, hello sir."
