Chapter 5: If Only I Can Hear You

Mikasa's POV:

*Time skip: End of school the next day*

The final bell rang and I started to head out of the building. I told Sasha wasn't walking with her in advance, so I didn't have to waste time to find her and tell her. I wanted to make sure I can get to Armin's house as soon as possible. I arrive at his house, it was a small modern home with a large glass window extending from the bottom to the roof. I didn't see Armin and Eren while walking here, so I assumed that they were further behind me since I did leave school in a rush. I then went to a 7/11 across the straight to hide just in case. I started to text Armin

Mikasa

Hey Armin! Im at the 7/11 across the straight. Wya?

Armin

On our way. About 5 min. We didn't see you the entire way here, so the plan is on

This is great news. I decided to buy some drinks for the three of us. I got two cokes and a root beer. I have not yet met anyone else who loves root beer as much as I do. After paying for the drinks, I looked out the window to see Eren and Armin entering the house. I thanked the cashier and left, heading towards the house. Once I got to the front door, I was about to knock when I noticed that the door was left open.

Mikasa: "Clever," I said to myself

I opened the door slowly to see Eren and Armin arguing

Eren's POV:

We finally arrived home after and while I put my stuff down, Armin was still talking about Eren.

Armin: "Do you think she'd like me?"

Eren: "Look men. She seems into you, but I'm the last person you want to talk to when it comes to love."

Armin: "I mean I guess. What about you? Mikasa seems kinda into you. At least it seems like she wants to be friends with you."

Eren: "In chorus sure since we're partners, but I doubt outside that room she'd want to hang out with me."

Armin: "C'mon don't jump to conclusions. I've gotten the chance to talk with her and she's really nice. Don't tell me you haven't noticed her yet."

Eren: "Of course I have... Ok fine, I-I noticed how nice her eyes are. And admittedly she's kinda cu- ah shit," I turned around and saw Mikasas standing right at the doorway.

Mikasa: "H-Hi Eren. I noticed you guys walking and wanted to say hello."

I turned around hiding my embarrassed and blushing face

Eren: "fuck she heard me talk," I whispered to Armin

Mikasa: "I see you finally got your voice back! I can't wait to sing with you," she said as she's walking towards us.

I didn't know what to do, so I just grabbed my hoodie and ran out the door. I started running as fast as I can just in case they were following. As soon as turned a corner, I looked behind me to see they were nowhere to be seen. I sighed with relief and decided to just walk around town, trying to clear my head. I finally reached the forest area, entering it and making sure I wasn't followed.

Mikasa's POV:

I stood at the doorway for a couple of minutes till Eren finally turned around and saw me.

Eren: "Of course I have... Ok fine, I-I noticed how nice her eyes are. And admittedly she's kinda cu- ah shit."

Was he about to call me cute?!
