Chapter 24: Epilogue

Narrator's POV:

It was finally summer for the two lovers. They were excited for their future together. Over the spring, they were both accepted to the same college near their hometown. With money coming from the Ackermans, Zeke, and even Levi, they were able to get their own apartment near campus. Today was their moving day.

The pair entered their new home with boxes in hand. Eren was carrying was a box while Mikasa carried three. The apartment was long a narrow. Right next to the door was the bathroom and further in was a kitchen with a bar stool counter. Further back and what took up 60& of the main area was the living room. It was already furnished, so there was a small coach with a flatscreen in front. In front of the kitchen and bathroom was another door that led into the bedroom. There was a queen-sized bed hugging the wall with a tv in front. Adjacent was a small computer desk where Eren intends to put their workspace.

The duo, with the help of family, unpacked all their stuff and decored most of the apartment. After a few hours, they said their goodbyes as the couple sat on their couch.

Mikasa's POV:

I was so tired from the unpacking and decorating that the moment we finally sat down, I collapsed onto Eren's lap.

Eren: "Tired babe?"

Mikasa: "Very."

Eren: "Why don't you take a nap while I make something."

Mikasa: "Erehhhhhh noooooo. Stay here on the couch with me," begging him to stay.

Eren: "Haha fine. I'll order something later."

Mikasa: "YAY! Lay down now. That's an order."

Eren: "Haha yes ma'am."

He then proceeds to lay down, putting his back up against the couch, while I placed my back on him. He wrapped his arms around me as I put my hands over his. I felt my eyes getting heavier as I was wrapped around my wonderful boyfriend.

Mikasa: "Eren honey."

Eren: "Yes babe?"

Mikasa: "I love you so much."

Eren: "I love you so much too. Forever and always."

Mikasa: "And to the moon and back?"

Eren: "To the moon and back."

Narrator's POV:

As the pair's eyes felt heavy, they retreated to their peaceful slumber. Together in each other's arms.

Eren and Mikasa slept together, imagining and hoping for the life ahead of them. The two never letting go of each other, holding the promise they made. To them, life was peaceful and full. Ready to tackle whatever the future had in store together as a couple.

Eren finally was in peace with his past. Never forgetting about his parents and friends, but not letting them hold him back. He wanted to live his life with friends in tow. With his new family. And of course, with his partner, Mikasa.

Mikasa finally found a new light in her world. She has a new life, sharing it with the person she loves most in this world. She finally got her cousin back with Petra finally seeing them as family. She owes it all to the boy who didn't want to sing, laying right behind her.

Every day the two reminded each other that they'll support each other no matter what comes in their way. They were happy together and wished themselves an amazing future.

Most importantly, every day they'll say to each other,

I love you to the moon and back.
