Chapter 16: Mistake

Eren's POV:

*Time skip: New Year's Eve*

I haven't seen Mikasa since Christmas and I kinda missed her a lot even though it's only been 5 days. Today I get to see her though because there was a New Year's Eve rooftop party and the entire friend group will be there. Armin and I were in the car. I decided to wear a grey dress shirt, black dress pants, and black dress shoes. I also had a blue bowtie and a New Year top hat. We arrived at the building and made our way up. Once we got there, we saw the entire rooftop decorated with lights, banners, and balloons. I looked over a saw Mikasa talking with Historia and started to walk over to her.

Eren: "Hey guys."

Mikasa: "Eren!" as she gave me a hug.

Armin: "How are you guys?"

Historia: "Pretty good! I got her about 5 minutes ago and Mikasa 10."

Eren: "Want to get a drink," I said to Mikasa.

She nodded and we walked over to the drink bar. We both got a root beer and started talking.

Mikasa: "I missed you Eren."

Eren: "It's only been 5 days haha."

Mikasa: "Well it's 5 days too long."

Eren: "How you been?"

Mikasa: "Greet. I've been wearing the scarf every day. I didn't wear it here because I didn't want to ruin it or lose it."

Eren: "I've been listening to your playlist every day as well."

Mikasa: "Got a New Year's resolution?"

Eren: "Ya actually... I want to be more truthful about myself."

Mikasa: "What do you mean by that?"

Eren: "Like I don't want to hide things. I wanted to see if you'll walk with me after the party, so we can talk."

Mikasa: "Is this the good talk or bad talk?"

Eren: "Good I think. It really depends on the reaction I guess."

Mikasa: "Well I'll love to listen."

Eren: "Hey I'll be back, I got to use the bathroom. I wanted to see you so soon that I forgot to use it back home."

Mikasa's POV:

Eren then left to go to the bathroom. It was so nice to see him, but I was a little anxious about what he wanted to talk about.

I was still waiting at the bar when someone from school came up to me.

Stranger: "Hey. Mikasa right?"

Mikasa: "Uhh ya. I'm so sorry. I've seen you from school, but never heard your name before."

Stranger: "Haha that's alright. My name is Floch."

Mikasa: "Nice to meet you."

We then started to have some small talk and learn about each other a bit.

Floch: "That's why I was called a coward. All because I didn't want to do some stupid rule in dodgeball haha."

Mikasa: "Well I guess you just need to prove to them that you aren't one."

Floch: "I guess that's start right now. Mikasa... would you like to dance?"

I was taken away by what he said. I didn't know what to do. I knew for a fact that I wanted to dance with Eren, but never thought about someone else asking me. I didn't want to be mean and refuse to. It's not like it means anything. I gave him a smile and accepted his offer. We danced for a good few minutes and were generally having fun. At the end of a song, we stopped.
