28. Unexpected Confessions

Since the night of the dock being burned down, Asylum and Tomura haven't talked much. Everyone noticed it, it was clear that something was going on, Dabi knew that for sure. When Asylum and Tomura were alone in a room, they rarely talked but when other people were around, they would talk like normal. Toga and Twice were really curious about what was going on between them so they asked Dabi. Dabi told them what he thought had happened, he thought Tomura and Asylum had kissed when he entered the car. Toga and Twice didn't take his statement seriously cause Dabi wasn't sure if it had happened or not, so the two villains were going to investigate for themselves. Toga and Twice split up and looked for either Tomura and Asylum to talk to them. Toga went after Asylum and Twice went after Tomura, they were kinda hard to find, especially Asylum. She would be one place and go somewhere else without telling anyone and she would usually be in a strange place. 

Toga had looked all over the main base for Asylum but she was nowhere, she bumped into Hitoshi and asked where Asylum was. Luckily, he knew where she was and told Toga that she might be in one of the warehouses. Toga thanked Hitoshi and went over to the warehouses. When she got to the first one and just as Hitoshi had told her, Asylum was there. The warehouse was filled with different species of plants, she was watering them when Toga came in. Asylum looked at Toga and smiled brightly at her.

"Hey Toga," Asylum said putting down her watering can

Toga went up to Asylum, smiling back. "Hey, whatcha doing?"

Asylum picked up the watering can, "Just doing some watering, you know me. I gotta take care of my babies~"

Toga nodded, "I didn't know you had a little garden here."

"This isn't just a garden, this is where all the most important herbs and specimens are kept. I plant these rare babies to help with my chemical lab." Asylum put down the watering can once more and sighed, "Is there something you need?"

"Well, yeah. I wanted to talk to you."

"Oh? What do you wanna talk about?" Asylum asked sitting down on the bench that was near the plants.

Toga sat down next to Asylum and looked deeply into her eyes, she could see that Asylum was worried about something. "I was wondering, so have Twice and the others, but did something happen between you and Tomura?"

Asylum's happy calm expression turned to surprise, she darted her eyes downward and spoke, "No, nothing happened between us. We're fine, just fine."

That set off a red flag in Toga's head, "Asylum, please don't lie."

Asylum quickly got up and walked over to some exotic flowers, "I don't know what you and the others are thinking, nothing is going on between me and Shiggy. We're just friends, that's it." She sighed

Toga got up and went over to her, "Asylum, Dabi suspects that something happened between you guys in the car from a few nights back. Did something happen back there?"

Clearly, Asylum was hesitant to tell Toga, she did trust her but she didn't know who else was around and listening in.

"You can tell me," Toga told her, "We're best friends after all."

Asylum's cheeks puffed and she wrapped herself in her arms, "Ok, I'll tell you. Just don't tell anyone else." Asylum then told Toga what had happened in the car, she shared every detail of it to make sure Toga got the right idea in her head.

When she was done, Toga finally understood everything but she was shocked that it happened, "I see. So what your telling me is you and Shiggy have feelings for each other. Well, I knew you liked him but Tomura is a hard one to figure out at times. But I don't get it, if you guys know you like each other, why not go for it?"
