He was sleeping again, but this time his head was laying on smooth tickling grass. One hand behind his head as he smiled slightly. A ray of sunshine falling over his face.
"Darkon?" A smooth deep voice called for his name, but he didn't listen. More like didn't want to listen.
"Darkon..." the voice kept repeating his name.
But, he didn't care and turned his body to the side, sleeping... the voice not stopping to his side.
"Darkon, are you mad at me?" At the sad timid hesitation he heard in her voice, he opened his eyes, feeling her presence behind him.
His eyes were sad, but he didn't turn. He had his hand under his head as he enjoyed her presence, but too proud to confront her.
"Do you want me to leave?" She asked, her voice quivering, he could swear he heard her snifling and it made his heart fall in weak.
A snifling was heard again, "okay, I will leave." She was going to leave but, before going anywhere Darkon hugged her from behind. "You are not going anywhere." His voice held a threat. Although he couldn't see her face, nor even feel the outline of her body. He just hugged 'her'.
"But, you are..." when she started he tightened his hug. Burying his face to the nape of her neck.
"I am cross with you...where were you all that time, I missed you." He whispered in her ear feeling grumpy. At that he knew she was smiling. And she put her hand on her cheek bringing him even closer.
"I am sorry." She said her voice lighter than before.
"You don't know how it was hard for me." He rubbed his face to the crock of her neck inhaling her jasmine like scent.
"It will pass." She answered making him feel serene. After a pause he said what was inside his conscious mind, "are you real?" Once again he asked the same question, but this time the smile she had fell and this time he believed his words, that she might not be real.
He woke up to the calling of the second in command calling for him. Darkon felt himself so drowsy that he took a nap on his desk, while he was looking at maps and clues, these days they have been following a ghost. No amount of people they asked, criminals they I interrogated or even traces made them make any progress.
He cleared his throat and rubbed his face remembering what he was doing, "I am awake, I am okay...two minutes and we will continue patrolling." But he was stopped by his commander as he he barged inside his tent trying to catch his breath.
"We found a clue!" At that Darkon stood up abruptly and with a hard face. As he walked to reach the outside of the tent he said one word.
"Lead." And he walked towards the merchants his commander said where they found a lead. In the busy streets stood an old lady, selling ingredients.
A woman. Suspicious already.
He activated his essence tracing ability and stared at the old lady. People moving around him with jumbling essence moving around him, but he put his ultimate focus on the old lady. To see a light essence wafting from her, no one could be this calm. He concluded as he looked at her to see that the lady was smiling as she sold herbs to a wandering man.
