Season 2 - Chapter 2: Mutants?

Previously on Portal Dimensional Hopper...

Fern was kicked in the gut and they fell backwards, spiraling down into their underground dog house, where they fell down a ladder and was patched off with obsidian. No food, no water, just...death.

Several painful days...
Several pleads for food...
Several days in darkness...

Fern laid there for hours... and hours... days... and nights... wanting death already...

Slowly...just slowly... Fern closed their eyes... then...

Nothing...

"Well! Good morning Fern!" Paige exclaimed and stretched her wings. "Mmmm!" She grinned and looked at Fern, noticing bags under Fern's eyes. "Did you even sleep?"

"No..." Fern finally says and wrapped themself up with their sweater.

Paige put their jacket on Fern. "There ya go, Ferny."

Fern sighed and smelt Paige's jacket, having a scent of damp, yet relaxing lavender. "It...It smells like home..."

"Does it?" Paige asked.

"It reminds me of him." Fern says

Welcome back to Portal Dimensional Hopper,
Season 2...

"Him? Him who?" Paige asked.

"Archer..." Fern mumbled and rubbed their thumbs, an old love interest of them from a distant place...

"No, anyone but them..." Paige mumbled.

"Name another hot boy with white hair." Fern huffed.

"Now isn't the time." Fern sighed and slowly got up. "Let's just find a place to ACTUALLY stay."

"Right!" Paige says and stretched her wings. "Mmm!" She exclaimed and jumped off the ground and flew off.

Fern shifted into a wolf and chased Paige down on foot.

Paige laughed. "Keep up wolf kid!" She exclaimed and flew faster.

Fern huffed and chased after Paige.

A boy watched the two run towards a building from a cliff, he had white hair, trimmed down to the point there was also brown seeping through. "Who are those two... are they... mutants...?" He asked. Slowly picking up his phone and typing in a number and letting the phone ring.

"Hey... Big guy, I think two lucky kids to be students...yeah they're heading your way...alright...alright!" The boy says and hangs up. "Well... I should head back... can't catch a break..." he sighed and became a white blur as he ran away in the direction of the building.

Fern became their human form and looked at a gate they almost ran by. "Hey what's this... Gifted Youngsters place..."

"What?" Paige asked and landed besides Fern.

"Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters..." Fern spoke and pushed the gate open.

"Snore... what even IS a gifted youngster..." Paige asked and put her hands on her hips. Glaring at Fern.
