"𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝘄𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 (𝗡𝗮𝗺𝗲)?"
Todo was only mere seconds away from charging at you but suddenly stopped when an arrow barely grazed, the side of his face."Well! Look who finally decided to show up!" Todo smiled cracking his knuckles.
You turned around only to see Kamo a fair distance away ready to use another one of his arrows. A wave of relief washed over you once you realized that you and Kamo's chances of winning had increased slightly.
Well, that's when a staff flew past your face hitting the tree behind you.
Maki emerged onto the scene with a cocky smile plastered on her face. She only exchanged quick glances with Todo before rushing towards you while Todo ran towards Kamo.
You quickly formed a broadsword in hopes of blocking Maki's constant attacks.
You were far too busy blocking Maki's attacks that you didn't even notice that you were slowly but surely getting pushed back from where Todo and Kamo were fighting.
"What's wrong (Name)? Don't tell me you're gonna lose this easily?" Maki teased once noticing your panicked expression upon the situation you were in.
Lose, that's the word that kept swirling in your mind.
Something that would only prove him right.
You only gave a sharp glare in response, as you tried to think of a way to get the upper hand.
The only reason you weren't able to land any hits that would ensure you and Kamo's victory was the fact that Maki's staff didn't allow you to close in on her.
The next best option was to find a way to attack from a distance which had proven to be difficult.
It also didn't help that the fight you had with Todo took away most of your energy leaving you tired and winded.
Before you knew it you and Maki were slowly reaching a ledge that led down into a river.
Should you jump down to get away from Maki? No, that's stupid you'll probably hurt yourself if you don't land correctly and Maki would probably follow you down.
Maki immediately took advantage of your current state and pulled her staff up to hit you from above.
With the little motivation, you had left you managed to block Maki's staff with your sword.
That's when it hit you.
Maki was leaning forward pushing her weight onto you to make you fall.
If you somehow made her lose balance then she would fall into the river giving you the upper hand.
You glance back only to see that you are getting closer and closer to the ledge.
In a quick moment of thinking you let go of your sword to punch Maki in the gut before moving out of the way so she would tumble into the river.
But Maki isn't stupid.
She's a quick thinker, and she knows how to adapt to her situations quickly.
She lets people make assumptions about her, and lets them think one way, only for her to act another.
Which meant that you would be the loser in the end simply because you weren't anything but weak compared to her.
Right before Maki fell she tugged onto your uniform dragging you down with her.
You felt the wind get knocked out of you as you tumbled down the hill before splashing into the river.
The rocks dig into your skin, as the exposed branches cut and nip at your arms- leaving scratches all over your body.
The water was beyond freezing making your skin crawl as you forced yourself up before scanning the river bank trying to find where the Maki went.
"Keep your eyes on your opponent (Name)!" Maki smiled running up from behind you.
She pulled up her staff before striking the side of your neck hitting one of your pressure points in the process.
You felt your eyes grow heavy before falling, ensuring Maki and Todo's victory.
