"𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗺𝘆 𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗹𝗹."
You didn't cry— just like you thought yesterday night, but that didn't mean you weren't sad.
He didn't deserve to die, but it's not as if anyone could bring him back from the dead.
No one spoke, as there was nothing to be said after all. The hot sun seemed to rip out any sense of comfort, only providing sweat dripping down your neck.
Not even a cold bath could erase the heat radiating off your skin, as if you were getting baked alive. Maybe it was the stillness surrounding the three of you, that made everything feel more intense.
You glanced over at Nobara, watching her lip quiver slightly.
She has more heart than me, you thought to yourself.
Was it wrong that you weren't shedding a few tears? Then again she knew him longer than you, but even so...you felt heartless in a way.
Did you lack basic human emotions, like empathy or even sympathy? Maybe it was for the better— you are a sorcerer, so the lack the "emotion" could help, right?
But you knew you didn't "lack emotion", to be frank, you might just be too emotional for your own good. It's just that you didn't have a connection to him like your classmates did.
That's it, you thought, I just lack connection with others...
Even though Megumi wasn't crying, it was obvious he was hurt. It would be concerning if he wasn't, especially since he watched Itadori die.
Then maybe he'd be the heartless one in this situation...
You brought your knees up to your chin, before closing your eyes. Thinking— it seems to be the only thing you do nowadays.
"It's getting hot..." Megumi said breaking the silence, knocking you out of your daze.
"Yeah, I wonder if it's time for the summer uniforms," Nobara said softly, "Then maybe the heat won't be so bad..."
It soon returned to the deafening silence it was just a few moments ago. The silence weighed heavy in the air creating a suffocating feeling that could make anyone feel uneasy. To be honest, it was almost painful, having to sit through the quietness.
"What's this?" asked a voice you recognized,
"You're looking more glum than usual, Megumi.""Zenin?" Megumi lifted his gaze up slightly to get a better look at the second year.
"Don't call me by my last name!" Maki barked her stern glare piercing her under classmates.
"Maki! Maki!" called another voice.
"I'm talking here," Maki grunted turning her head slightly; eyeing her classmates who were hiding behind a small statue.
"Y-you actually don't know why they're so down?" Panda asked sounding panicked.
