"𝗦𝗲𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗴𝘂𝘆𝘀 𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿!"
"Mind if we join?" Mai asked smiling, her arms neatly behind her back.
Before Megumi or Nobara could even answer Mai and Toudou already invited themselves in, pulling chairs from different tables.
"Is Maki with you guys?" Mai mused settling down at the table her fingers grazing the gloss of the wood.
Nobara shot Mai a quick glare before looking down at her phone. "No, she's back at the school."
"What a bummer!" Mai whined letting out a disappointed sigh.
An awkward silence soon filled the table as no one dared to talk, the air felt thick weighing everyone at the small table down.
You chewed on the straw looking around at everyone, you were all so alike- yet all so different.
You almost wanted to laugh, how strange this all was...
"Are you all ready to order?" asked the waitress walking up to the table.
"Yes, can we get two bowls of Okinawa soba and one bowl of Tsukemen," You paused for a quick second bitting your check before speaking, "Toudou, Mai, what do you want?"
Mai blinked at you not expecting you to even ask, let alone even acknowledge their existence after seemingly crashing the party.
"One bowl of Yakisoba and one bowl of cold soba, please," Mai said simply trying not to show much emotion on her face as the waiter walked off.
"She's just my type!" Toudou said once the waiter was out of earshot.
"Then ask her for her number," you said with a shrug, not realizing everyone's differing expression.
"Really!? Do you think she'll like me!" asked Toudou excitedly, almost jumping out of his seat, leaning forward his eyes wide.
"I doubt it," Megumi chimed in with a slight scoff.
"You don't even have a type!" Toudou retorted, gritting his teeth together, pointing an accusatory finger at Megumi.
Megumi let out a disappointed sigh before glaring at Toudou. "I just gave you my honest opinion."
Toudou and Megumi continued to bicker, but truthfully it was Toudou mainly the one speaking trying to rile up Megumi via getting under his skin.
You didn't realize it but you were smiling, an unfamiliar warmth coating your body.
"Now that I think about it the waitress is pretty cute," Nobara commented twirling her straw in her drink.
Toudou let out a cheeky sigh, his voice filled with admiration, "I know right!"
"Wait, I thought you had a crush on that one idol," Mai questioned her brows furrowing together.
"I can make exceptions Mai," exclaimed Toudou, placing his chin on top of his palm appearing lost in his dreams.
"Here's your food!" the waitress grinned happily placing the food down on the table.
Anyone could tell by the way Toudou pressed his lips together that he was holding himself back from speaking to the waitress.
Your eyes bounced between the waitress and Toudou, as your bowl of food was pushed toward you. The stream from your ramen hit the underside of your chin as the waitress turned on her heel, walking away.
"Why didn't you ask for her number that was your golden opportunity," you asked leaning forward, your gaze landing on Toudou.
"I have my reason (last name)!"
"Well, that was your only chance!"
"This is good, you should eat your food (First name)," Nobara said simply, dismissing you and Toudou's conversation.
"What if that was the love of your life!" you huffed dramatically placing your palm on your forehead seeming like an actor off-Broadway.
"Should I ask for the bill?" asked Megumi not finding much interest in the scene at hand.
Once everyone had finished their food, the waitress came scurrying back with the bill in hand and a small black pen.
"By the way, he thinks you're very cute," you blurted out pointing to Toudou.
The waitress's and Toudou's faces both turned beet red flushed with pure embarrassment. Nobara and Mai struggled to hold in their laughs as Megumi continued to fill out the bill rathered unbothered.
The waitress's face turned a bright red as she stumbled over her words. "Oh...well you're my type as well..."
"OH! Really!? May I have your number then..." Toudou grinned rubbing the back of his neck nervously.
"Yeah, sure! I'll be right back!" smiled the waitress as she left the table with the bill.
Mai took a sip from her drink before letting out a bitter laugh. "Wow, I'm shocked that worked."
After that whole ordeal, you all left the small ramen shop making sure to wave goodbye to the two Koyto students.
"Well, that was interesting." Nobara giggled leading the way back to the school as you and Megumi held her shopping bags.
You smiled softly before laughing lightly, "Yeah, but it all ended well!"

You've learned that Maki may not understand what good news means.
Upon discussing with Gojo, she was sending the first year to take over the second year's mission. All within the name of seeing the progression that should be relevant, considering all the training that you and your classmates had endured.
"This is a simple mission it should not take us too long," Megumi reminded as you trailed behind him, the elementary school halls cold and empty.
"Yeah, yeah let's just get this over with," You said voice laced with annoyance, your shoes lightly tapping against the rusting tile.
The mission was indeed easy, to the point you almost thought it was a joke the second years were planning.
All you had to do was kill some low-level curses that were haunting a local elementary school, causing disturbances that haven't gone unnoticed.
"We should split up since it won't take as long," Nobara recommends, her hammer and nails in hand.
"I suppose so..." Megumi uttered.
"Eh, fine by me." You said shrugging your shoulders, and just like that the three of you split up to finish the mission quickly.
As you killed the few curses that came your way a sudden wave of screams and cries of help filled the empty hallways. In a pure moment of adrenaline, you quickly ran to where the cries were coming from.
You pushed open a classroom door only to see a child's dead body and curse smiling sinisterly.
