That's ok - D.O of Exo
∆∆∆
"I was busking with my band mates in your neighbourhood." Jungkook replied.
"Woah! You should have told me." I dusted off the sand from my clothing while talking to him.
"I wasn't sure about your whereabouts. Plus its Sunday and I thought you'd be spending some time with your mom." Jungkook said. "By the way, how's Dr Hyejin doing?"
"It's Aunt Hyejin for you, dummy." I hit his head playfully. "She's fine." I replied as I fake a smile.
"Is she here with you now? Its been so long since I last met her. I especially miss the cupcakes she makes."
There he goes again asking for the cupcakes.
"I do bring cupcakes often to university. So there's no way you are missing it." I chortled.
"Her cupcakes are worth eating every day." Jungkook smiled at me. "Did she bake any for tomorrow?"
"I don't think so. I'll try asking her to bake some"
"Don't pester her. Let her do so whenever she's free."
"If you say so, Jungkook."
"And cupcake, I asked you where she is?" Jungkook tilted his head in question. I gulped and lowered my head. "So you came here all alone?"
"Well... Kookie, I-- uhm-- I actually fought with my mom."
"And my silly Cupcake is feeling bad all alone on the beach?" He asked and I nodded my head in answer. "Good choice of place though." Jungkook tittered. I glared at him. "You are such a baby, cupcake." He rubbed the back of my shoulder to comfort me.
I filled him with all the details, excluding the little friendly encounter I had with Namjoon. He was quite surprised when I told him that Dong Hee called me over. His face was fuming with anger the minute I spoke about my father. Later, his face softened. I also told him why I fought with mom.
"What a weekend, cupcake." He sighed, rather overwhelmed.
"I know right, Kook. I feel exhausted. Can I just get into an everlasting slumber?" I smiled in pain.
"Like forever? You must be kidding, y/n." He paused. "Our gang will definitely feel bad for letting you go that way. It won't be good without you. You literally brought everyone together. Myself, Naf, Hana, Jimin and Tae - we exist together as friends because of you. Do you think we'd let go of you just like that? What are friends for? We are there for you. Don't talk nonsensical stuff."
"I don't know. Life is so hard to endure. It feels like I'm stuck in a bog with all the pains of my past pulling me down toward itself." I told him.
"There's something I have to confess to you. Nobody except Naf knows about this." Jungkook took a deep breath and continued, "You've only seen my goofy side, but I've encountered something similar to yours." I only stared at him in confusion.
"It happened when I was in middle school. My mother divorced my father, not because she found someone new, but she wanted to focus on her career. She was a journalist, working for a reputed news firm. She had a great passion for her work."
"Just like you, Jungkook?" I interrupted.
He smiled at me. "Almost." His face glowed up at my remark. "Back to the story now. She didn't have much interest in marriage, yet she did so under my grandmother's wish. Love eventually found its way between my parents. A few years later, I was born. As a new mother, she had no choice but to take a break from her work life."
