Don't wanna cry - Seventeen∆∆∆
"Has he invited you along with me?" I asked my mom as I took a look at the invitation.
"You think he would? His love for me has already faded years ago my dear." Tears were struggling to come out of her eyes.
"I'm not going anyways, mom. I don't want to hurt you. You are the only one left for me in this world." I told her.
"No dear. You should meet him since you are still his daughter."
"That was 3 years ago. The father-daughter relationship ended the moment he signed those divorce papers and walked out of the house with his newfound love." I tried not to sound angry but internally I was fuming with anger.
"He'll hurt you if you don't go. Please darling I insist you go to the party. At least for me. Won't you go? I want to know how he's doing." Her tears were running down her face like a river.
"He's living a happy life with his new family. You don't have to worry about him. After all the damage he had done, you still worry about him? Mom, you are just being insane." I spilt out my anger accidentally.
"Yes, I am insane. Your mom is insanely in love with him still. I can't stop loving him, sweetheart. I've been loving him for years with all my heart. How do you expect me to forget all of it like nothing had happened?" My mom snapped back and my heart ached to see her so weak and feeble.
"I know it's hard but you really have to move on. Forget about him if you want me to be happy. Let go of him, mom." I was fighting back my tears as I spoke.
"But he's your dad. His blood runs on your body. You just can't forget him like that. He gave you life." My mom cried.
"But you were the one who went through all the pain to give birth to me. You fed me and groomed me for years amidst your hectic schedule. My father was just there for namesake. All he did was to chase over money to expand his firm and one day he just left. He left us like we didn't exist." I burst. My mom didn't utter a word for a while.
"Don't you want to go and meet your little brother? You kept saying that he's an innocent soul who caught up in a distorted family like ours." My mom asked me. She clearly knew that I had a soft spot for that little kid of my dad's newfound love.
"I will meet him one day privately. Plus I don't think his mom will allow me to meet him now since he has grown."
"He's just 3 years old darling. He's still a baby boy." My mom felt sad for him.
"Mom... I think you don't have to stress about it. I understand that you are caring and you would love to see that kid but I'm telling you that he's fine. He's happy with this mom and dad." I told her and she calmed herself down a bit.
"Fine... Think about it. That party is on Saturday. I hope you go." My mom spoke about it again.
"I'm not sure but I'll see whether I'm free and decide about it." I said to her and she pulled me for a hug. She kissed my cheek and I wiped her teary face.
"I have to complete my homework." I lied. She nodded in understanding and I walked off to my room.
Once I'm inside, I couldn't control my tears anymore. Tears flowed down my face ceaselessly and I kept wiping it away with my elbow. I might hate him but it doesn't mean that I don't miss him. He was my dad after all and unfortunately I loved him so much even though he had little time for me. I struggled to doze off to sleep, fighting with my emotions to lessen the pain I felt in my heart. I didn't know when but I had drifted off to sleep finally putting a temporary end to my wretched heart.
My alarm buzzed loudly, marking the beginning of another brand new day that I had to endure. I got ready to leave home. Brushing away the thoughts about last night, I headed downstairs to check whether my mom was there. As expected she had already left for work. Thankfully she had prepared my breakfast and lunch, leaving packed boxes on the table. I quickly put them into my backpack to take it with me. I locked my house before leaving for the train station.
Once I reached my university, I went to the cafeteria to meet my gang. Meeting them always brought a smile on my face. I could keep away my worries aside for a while if I'm with them. I spotted them amidst the crowd and waved at them. After greeting each other, I gulped down my breakfast as fast as I could. I was afraid of being late to the class.
"Hey hey... Slow down." Jungkook told me. "You might choke and die cupcake."
"That's right. Have some water." Naf stretched out my water bottle to me. I chugged it hurriedly only to get a few drops of water spilt on my dress.
"Why are you in a hurry?" Hana asked me concerned.
"I'm just afraid that I'll be late for class." My words were almost incoherent since I was munching on my breakfast.
"Ah... We've still got time. Slow down cupcake."
"Ok Jiminie shortcake." I laughed at him.
"Who's the shortest cake in the world?" Taehyung sang.
"Jiminie shortcake." Naf and Jungkook squealed.
"Who's the one who has tiny fingers?" Taehyung sang again. Then it struck my brain that he was singing it like SpongeBob Square Pants theme song.
"Jiminie shortcake." I joined the rest to tease Jimin.
"Why is it always me?" Jimin pouted.
"It's because you are a fool Jiminie." Hana chuckled. "Jiminie pabo."
"Well... Jiminie is sad." He pouted and acted like a little.
"Aww..." Hana cooed. "My baby boy is hurt. Don't worry Jiminie. Mommy will take care of you." She patted his head as if he was her pet Calico cat.
"Oh..." Jungkook's eyes went wide. "I see it now." He covered his mouth not trying to laugh hard.
Taehyung looked at Jungkook and started laughing uncontrollably. "I got it, Kookie. I got it. Your mind. Haha, it's just like mine."
Naf and Hana looked at them confused.
"Innocent souls." Jungkook joked.
"We never knew that Jiminie had a mommy kink." Taehyung burst into fits of laughter yet again and Jungkook tried his best to get over it.
"What? You imbecile morons. Yah... This is no kinky shit. Shut your goddamn mouth. Will ya?" Hana shouted.
"Hey..." I nudged her. "We are in a cafeteria. Remember." I reminded Hana.
"Seems like she forgot to keep her voice down." Naf commented.
"Bloody hell. I've embarrassed myself because of freaks like you." Hana covered her face and Jimin was doing the same.
Such a stupid couple...

Hi ARMYs... I'm back with another chapter. It's kinda short but bare with it coz I had limited time to post it. Online classes are draining out my energy. I have assignment dues too. I've finally completed all of it yesterday.
Thanks for all the love and support that you've been showing to this book. Eyes on me is close to hit 200 reads and if I'm not wrong it's been only a month and a half since I published this book. I'm indeed happy that this book has reached out to so many of you. I'm happy that you are enjoying it. I'll try updating another chapter this weekend if I'm free.
Thanks for all the love again...
Moncee Haruhi.
