No Matter What

I'm not surprised
that it took so long
for someone like you
to show up
and make
my heart leap.
Because
even after
meeting
many many people
you are the only one
who understands me
like you do
and holds me close
like you do.
You are the only person
who knows all the things
that I feel too afraid to say
in front of others
and all the things
that nobody else
wants to know.
I know
I will wake up
tomorrow morning
knowing that even if
the day is the worst one yet
everything
that could possibly
go wrong
goes wrong
it'll be alright.
Because
even if
I look as though
I didn't sleep at all
or if
there are tears
pouring down my face
I know
you will be there
and love me
no matter what.
