Today Meredith had an appointment with Callie. Then, she was going back to work. Only to consult and teach, but it was work nonetheless.

She got up early with Zola while Derek slept and held her in her good arm. "Mama booboo?" Zola asked as she touched Merediths sling. "Yeah, mama got a booboo." Meredith replied.

"Hurt?" Zola asked. Meredith smiled sadly. "A little, zo. But mommy's okay." She said. Zola leaned over and gave her arm a quick kiss. "Better!" She yelled happily. "Yeah Zo, all better." Meredith said with a chuckle.

Once Derek woke up, they both got Zola ready and then themselves ready. Derek helped Meredith put on her scrub top ahead of time, so they wouldn't have to do it at the hosptial and went downstairs.

Once Zola was fed, they left the house quickly. It was 830, and their appointment was at 9:00. They dropped Zola off at daycare and then went to find Callie. "Grey, there you are." Callie said as she led them to an exam room. "Alright, let's do this." Callie said. She pulled off the sling, getting a wince of discomfort from Meredith. Derek held her hand and squeezed.

"Does it hurt without the sling? Any tingling, sharp pains, numbness." Callie asked. "Not too bad. Sharp pains right now." Meredith replied. "That's normal. What about if you rest it somewhere?" Callie asked. Meredith let her arm rest in her lap. "That's fine." She replied.

"Good. So, I don't think you need this sling anymore, but I do want you in this brace for the time being until you get your surgery again." Callie said as she held up a black brace. She slipped her hand in to it and helped adjust the size. "Feel okay?" Callie asked. "Yeah, it's fine." Meredith replied.

"Alright, I think we're done here. When are you starting pt again?" Callie asked. "Tomorrow." Derek replied. "Good. And your back to work today, right?" She asked. "Yup." Meredith replied. "Cool. No writing with that hand, got it? You can consult and teach or whatever, but no writing." Callie said firmly.

Meredith sighed. "Okay." She said. "Okay. See you later." Callie said as they all exited the room. "Grey, over here." Bailey said the minute she saw her. Meredith gave a quick kiss to Derek before walking to Bailey. "You are allowed to round on patients and consult, your allowed to get in the skills lab, although I don't know if Callie signed off on that." Bailey said. Meredith shook her head. "Okay, nevermind then. You can teach the interns. Uh, no charting I'm assuming, so yeah." She said.

"I know it sucks grey." Bailey said. Meredith laughed bitterly. "That's an understatement." She muttered before turning and walking away. She met up with her interns in the hallway and quickly started rounds.

"Wilson, present." Meredith said. "Kathy Gregory, 54, in for a liver transplant. UNOS found one and the surgery is scheduled for 11 today." Jo said. "Will you be doing my surgery dear?" Kathy asked. "No, dr Bailey will be." Mereditj replied with a sigh. "Why not you?" She asked. Meredith held up her arm and smiled sadly. "It's a long story. I'll see you later maam." She said before leaving the room with her interns.

"Dr Grey?" One of her interns asked tentatively. Meredith turned around. "Was it the plane crash?" He asked curiously. "Yes. Now, let's go. We have another patient to round on." Meredith said sternly.

All day, Derek was worrying about Meredith. He was finally back in the OR once again, with a few craniotomys. "How's Meredith doing?" Richard asked as he came up to him at the nurses station. "She's taking it hard. She doesn't like to feel helpless and incompetent." Derek replied. "That's Meredith. So is she back?" He asked.

"She is, but she's very restricted. She can round, consult, and teach other interns. She's not happy about that." Derek replied. "Ah, those Grey women. Always want to be in the OR. She'll be alright." Richard said. "Wait!" Derek called as Richard was about to move. "Do you think Meredith would want me to try to get her a college class to teach maybe?" He asked.

"That's a great idea. Actually, I know the Dean at Seattle Med University. You want me to talk to him?" Richard asked. "Yes. Thank you." Derek said with a smile. "Anytime Derek." Richard said as he walked away.

Meredith ended up having a really bad day, constantly getting questions about her arm, so she decided to do the one thing that made her feel better. (No, not Derek). She decided to go up to the daycare and see Zola. "Ma!" Zola yelled when she saw her mother. "Hi zo!" Meredith replied as she picked her up with her good arm.

Derek spotted his girls from a distance and walked over. He knew Meredith only went up to visit Zola when she was having a really bad day. He wrapped his arms around Meredith from behind. "Daddy!" Zola squealed. Meredith and her turned around and smiled when she saw Derek. "Want to go home?" He asked. Meredith nodded.

They got home a half an hour later and sat down on the couch. "I spoke to Richard today. What do you think about teaching a few college classes?" Derek asked. "Really?" Meredith asked. "Yeah. He knows the Dean of Seattle med university and he said he'd talk to him if we wanted to." Derek replied.

"I mean, I guess. Not like I can do anything else at the hosptial." Meredith said sadly. "Okay. I'll talk to him and give him the okay. We can call the Dean tomorrow." Derek said as he took her in his arms. "You will operate again. I know it's hard right now but we'll get you operating again. I promise." He whispered. Meredith sniffled and burrowed her head into his chest. "I love you." He said. "Love you too." Meredith replied muffled into his shirt.
