Suddenly she felt her shoulder become heavy only to find him sleeping innocently.
...
Twil twirled the pen between her thumb and index finger in deep thought. She sighed and wrote down the answer and raised her hand.
The substitute, collected her paper as she took her bag and walked outside. There were only 3 students who were doing the test including her. Kate was pretty much obsessed with being the last one to complete the test.
She shot Kate a look and came out to find May rolling her eyes at something Ree said. She was about to ask what when she heard a certain voice.
"Hahaha. You were supposed to take square root" Litwin said to the other guy. Twil gulped as yesterday's thoughts came flashing.
After he pleasantly fell asleep on her shoulder, Adrian dropped her at her house. She didn't sleep a wink. The constant thought of what made the same dialogue different was confusing her. She chooses the easiest explanation. 'Maybe the coolness made my heart race or the guts to confess straight in the face did it. Not because he was handsome or because he might have meant them or I like him' she told herself.
Litwin turned and smiled at Twil. Twil didn't reciprocate the smile even a bit. She felt it was unfair that she was facing inner turmoil while he doesn't remember anything? The only roots that Twil wished to take were his hair roots. Pluck it one by one.
Twil's friends noticing the psychopathic look on her face shook her. Twil turned around and walked away leaving a confused Litwin and her even more suspicious friends.
"I m gonna break his teeth next time" Twil mumbled to herself as she stood near the entrance. She was about to walk away when she saw a car stopping before her. The tinted windows rolled down and Adrian gave a toothy smile.
"Watcha doin?" He asked while Twil ignored him. Adrian laughed and came out and pushed Twil inside the car while she protested. Neither of them should have done this and they didn't know what was about to happen.
Adrian drove her to Litwin's place and she got out slamming the door close after they arrived. Adrian signalled for her to get in and she got inside the house.
She saw Marcus greeting Adrian and he smiled at her which she returned politely. Adrian took her to the lounge on the second floor. He sat down while Twil relaxed on the couch.
"Um. About what happened ye-" Adrian's words were cut with Twil shooting a glare at him. He rubbed his nape and sighed.
They sat there silently with Twil's eyes closed from the exhaustion avoiding Litwin. 'It was worth it' Twil thought to herself but when she heard a particular voice it made her slap herself internally. 'Of course, I would see him here. it's where he stays after all. Way to go Twil' she praised herself sarcastically.
Litwin seeing Adri and Twil smiled at them. Twil didn't open her eyes. "Hey Twil" Litwin chirped. "How annoying" she mumbled quietly and waved a hi without opening her eyes.
Her insides were boiling. She opened her eyes and stood up walking out to the balcony. Litwin, who was clueless to the fact his attitude bothered her, followed her.
"Hey. You okay?" He questioned concerned. Twil rolled her eyes. Deep inside she knew she can't be angry at him since he didn't forget because he wanted to. She hummed softly. She had to shrug it off and everything will be back to normal, right? But then the giddy feeling kept coming back and she decided to keep a distance from him until she figures it out. She wetted her lips nervously and turned towards him and spoke "Exhausted." she shrugged and Litwin slowly nodded his head. She smiled and walked towards Adri who was lying on the couch upside down leaving a heart-racing Litwin behind.
