Chapter - XXXXII Twinning

The black hair which reached till the mid-shoulder, flowed in the air. The eerie silence and his heels clicking had the maids' attention as they moved away from his way in fear and respect.

Ashton stood up in acknowledgement, as Gael bowed and went out, closing the door.

"Ashton" his silky deep voice reverberated.

"Axel" Ashton gritted in annoyance.

"Why did you cover me with the energy of Clesr?" Ashton asked even though he knew the answer. To the least, he wasn't happy about it.

"I m sure you do but the answer is to overthrow the attention or any point of suspicion on me to you" Axel said as he pointed between both as his golden eyes glowed with mischief.

"And in return, you promised you wouldn't hurt anyone" Ashton yelled.

"I didn't" Axel shrugged nonchalantly. Ashton scoffed at his behaviour. "You didn't?" He got up from his seat as his eyes scanned Axel who wasn't pleased by the sudden rise in his voice.

"Twil was hurt." Ashton said as he accused him. Axel's eyes turned dark as his jaws clenched. "She is the last before person I would hurt in this world"

Axel said earnestly. Ashton sighed. From the moment he realized, the powers and their fight, he knew it was a mess. He tried hard to turn a blind eye but failed.

The day he got a text from Twil saying that he left the hoodie in the music room, the troubles started. He found someone walking away wearing his hoodie and when confronted, they gave him his hoodie running off. Even though it was highly suspicious, he wore the hoodie and Litwin got him and mistook him for someone.

When he wanted to explain, he got a call from his brother and had to rush back home. After knowing it was a false alarm and prank by them to make him babysit Tete. He was relaxing when he found Twil's Aunt, Rizi having a conversation with someone on the call. He heard things, he wasn't supposed. About the attack and the Hesy and Mikra.

Like any other sane person, he was confused and didn't believe but when he saw Rizi's powers, he had no other choice. The next day, when Litwin questioned him, he didn't want to seem like a maniac saying this stuff so he chose to lie.

When things started to settle down a little, he came to know that Twil's life was endangered and the reason was Litwin and Dominic were working for the bad guy. He hung out with Dominic, in the hope to find some clue but sadly he found none.

The invitation to Rachel's party came and Dominic asked him to wear a white suit and he had to comply to get closer to the answer. He was shocked when he saw Axel walk in confidently with a white and had an aura which was totally different from the one in school.

"Ask the guy there to help Litwin and Twil" Axel whispered to him as Ashton did it. Then his mission changed, he learned that Axel wouldn't hurt Twil no matter what but if she stayed with Litwin, whom Axel hates then she would be under the bus along with him.

Ashton tried warning Litwin to stay away and that's when it hit him. Axel was using him to shield the suspicion.

"What are you going to do now?" Ashton asked. He wasn't on Axel's side but had to be there to know his intentions and plan.

"Same old way. Create a commotion at their wedding" Axel said as he gripped the table's edge.

"Wedding? Litwin and Twil?" Ashton asked shocked. Axel kept silent as Ashton feared. Feared that he might hurt them someway. She was like a sister to him after all.
