Chapter - XXXIX A Marriage proposal

Litwin's eyes widened as Twil smiled bitterly at him.

"I presume we haven't met, your Highness. I m Twil Wafi Nemz, your fiancée's twin" she bowed humbly and met his eyes.

She wiped her wetted cheeks and excused herself as she walked out of the room. She met Adrian, who was happily walking toward her.

"Oh hey, Alicia! Um. Are you okay?" His smile disappeared seeing her state. She nodded in a mock tone and walked away.

Adrian titled his head in confusion as he entered the room.

The next morning after the explanation, Twil woke with a splitting headache. She chugged the water down as she got up and walked downstairs.

Her parents weren't there, instead, the maids were preparing the breakfast. She went back up to her room and freshened up.

It was a warm and friendly Sunday morning. Twil walked out of her house looking at her watch.

After a few minutes of loitering, she sat down on a bench. She felt someone sitting down beside her but she didn't bother opening her eyes.

"Twil" called out his voice.

"Hmm" she hummed back.

"How you doin?" He asked.

"Better than I thought I would Ash."

There was a minute of silence when Twil spoke again. "You don't seem surprised and you are taking it pretty well for a human" she said.

Ashton gulped and looked away. Out of nowhere, Alicia popped making Ashton shoot up from his seat. Alicia glanced at him for a second before her eyes stayed at Twil's.

"Can we talk?" Alicia asked with nervousness lacing her voice.

Twil nodded and Ashton excused himself. Alicia was about to take a step towards Twil when she was hugged tight by Twil.

Alicia closed her eyes and hugged her back. "I thought you would hate me" Alicia said in a soft voice.

"Shouldn't you be the one to hate me?" Twil asked back.

Alicia pulled back with a questioning look. "Why would I hate you Twil? Your powers keep me alive! I took away your position as the heir of Mikra and kept father and mother to myself even our grandparents"

"You are my Twin. My blood, my sister, it's the least I can do for you. And you didn't keep them for yourself rather it was their duty to take care of our people and our planet" Twil said. Alicia looked down while Twil held her hand.

"If someone should receive hate then it should be me. It's because I m incompetent you are living a life in someone else's identity instead of yours. You gave up a normal life and forced yourself to do things and marry the guy whom you don't even love" Twil said as Alicia shook her head.

After an hour of bonding with lots of tears and laughter, they started walking together arm in arm. Alicia smiled at Twil as Twil did the same. Alicia stopped in her tracks as she turned towards Twil.

"How bout you go to Mikra in my place just for a week?" Alicia asked. Twil turned and faced her.

"Can I?"

And with the answer decided, Twil wearing a pretty brown silk dress, jewels, and semi-curled hair stood before the mirror.

She exhaled and removed the contacts earning a gasp from Ashton.
