When the Cat woke up, the first thing she remembered was that she wouldn't have to go to school for 3 weeks because Thalia had lied to the schools. It wasn't the best memory to wake up to. She could hear Thalia snoring softly on the bottom bunk, and Hazel was curled up next to her stuffed tiger, Hobbes. Cat silently got out of bed, trying not to wake Hazel up. It didn't work.

One slitted eye opened to peer at her. Cat sighed. So much for a peaceful breakfast. How dare you wake me up at this undragonly hour! Hazel hissed, sounding still half asleep. Cat rolled her eyes. She shouldn't have to deal with this first thing in the morning.

"It's not my fault you heard me wake up. You can go back to sleep." Cat climbed down the ladder, and went downstairs. She turned the light on in the kitchen and pulled the cereal off the top of the fridge. As she poured and the cereal into the bowl, Thalia entered the kitchen.

"Morning" she said, yawned. "Did you make me cereal?" Cat glared at the sleepyhead. Of course she would ask that. "Make it yourself." tossing the box of cereal to Thalia, she pulled the milk out of the fridge, poured it into her cereal, and went to sit at the dining table. There was no school because Thalia had forge their moms signature, and lied to the school. All they  could do now was come up with a plan, and since that wasn't very likely to happen, they were doomed.

All of a sudden, there was a big thud in the backyard. The house seemed to shake for a moment. Cat turned around, and froze. Thalia rushed into the dining room. "What was that!??!?" She turned to see what Cat was looking at, and froze. In their backyard, staring right back at them, was a huge, dark blue, dragon.

Cat and Thalia were still frozen, when a crashing sound came from the back door and in the laundry room. A strange woman entered their dining room. She had straight black hair, with grey streaks in it, and small wrinkles on her pale skin. She looked like the sort of person you're parents would make you give a wide berth. "You're Tanya and Varian Reids children?" She asked, her voice like melodious, like a flute.

Thalia grabbed Cats hand, pulling her away from the strange woman. "Who are you?" she asked, voice cracking. "And how do you know our parents?" The woman seemed to realize how scared they were, and took a step back. "My name is Jin Li. I'm sorry if a scared you. I understand your parents are missing." Cat and Thalia exchanged glances. She seemed nice, but she was a stranger. "You didn't answer her question." Cat said stepping forward, warily. "And how do know they're missing?"

The woman, Jin, glanced around, looking like she wanted to leave immediately. "I'll explain everything, but you two need to come with me now." Thalia tugged Cat back. "We're not going anywhere until you tell us what's going on."

Jin sighed in exasperation, which Cat didn't think was very fair since she was a stranger. "Look, I can't explain here. All you need to know is that your parents are in danger, and you are too."

Cat was about to ask her what she was talking, when all of a sudden a white streak zoomed down the stairs, and rammed straight into Jin. The dragon outside shifted, trying to peer into the house. Cat and Thalia backed away from the window. A furious familiar voice howled, Who are you?!!? Get away from them!!!

Jin scrambled away from Hazel, and pulled herself up using the wall, staring in confusion as Hazel positioned herself in front of Cat and Thalia. "How...What... How do you have a dragon?" She looked incredibly confused. "You shouldn't have a dragon. You shouldn't even know about them!" Hazel was still snarling at her. Cat ran over to her. "Woah, hey, calm down Hazel. She's nice. I think." Hazel gave her an affronted look. You think?

"it doesn't matter!" Jin said. "Please come with me. I have a place were you'll be safe." The 3 of them exchanged glances. Then Cat stepped forward. "If we go with you, do promise that you're not going to kidnap us, or anything like that?" Jin sighed in relief. "Yes, I promise. You can go pack anything that you can't live without, but you have to hurry." she left, and as she did, Thalia turned, and hissed. "What are you doing!?! She's a stranger!" Cat grabbed her phone, and hurried upstairs, Thalia trailing after her. "I know, but she know where our parents are, and she's probably right. Whoever took them, might come back for us. We aren't safe here."

Thalia sighed. She knew Cat was right. They were as safe in the house as they were with Jin and her dragon. Cat was still kind of in shock about that. A real life, huge dragon was standing in their backyard. She glanced at Hazel, who was also following, and had a scowl on her snout. The dragon was practically 30 times Hazel's size! Practically 3 times the size of an elephant!

Thalia and Cat both collected everything they needed in their backpacks, and rushed downstairs, pulling on coats and shoes. Outside, Jin and the big blue dragon were waiting. "Where are we going?" Cat called up to Jin, who was seated on top of the dragon. There were several saddles in between the dragons scales, and Jin was sitting on the saddle in the front.

"We're going to the school that I run. Your parents used to got there, that's why I know them." Cat's eyes widened, and she saw Thalia's do the same. "How are we going to get there?" It was a stupid question. "How do you think?" Jin said, spreading her arms out. "We're going to fly!.

Jin pulled them both onto the dragon, and Hazel proudly flapped up on her own. Jin still seemed confused on how Hazel was there, but she didn't say anything. Then, a voice, That wasn't Jin's, said, Don't forget to hold on! The voice was like a thundering waterfall, but not too loud. Cat almost jumped out of her skin.

"Oh! Sorry. I should've introduced you. Cat, Thalia, Hazel, meet Niorvy." Niorvy looked at them from over her shoulder, her eyes glinting in amusement. it's nice to meet you, younglings. I apologize for my rider. She had no manners. Cat couldn't see Jin, but she was pretty sure she rolled her eyes. "Lets go." Jin said, leaning forward. Cat wrapped her hands around one of Niorvys spikes just in time, as they lifted into the air. Then, they were flying.
