Raeden closed her eyes, breathing in the scent of ozone. Suyiyana's muscles shifted below her, wings flapping to keep them in the air. They were flying through a thunder cloud, and small beads of water were hitting her in the face. It was refreshing. Trying to take over the world was harder than she had expected. All of those lesser than dragons and riders trying to stop her. They weren't even near powerful enough to fight and hybrid lightning and shadow dragon, of course, but there were a lot of them. And that pathetic Tanya and her ice dragon didn't help matters.

It didn't matter though. Sooner or later, the academy would let their guard done, and she would be ready, with a dragon army. The academy would fall, and Raeden and Suyiyana would rule the world together, as the most powerful dragon and rider to fly above the earth. Raeden held out a hand, and a flash of lightning hit it. She held her hands together, cradling the ball of lightning. She started to laugh, when a voice cut through her thoughts. You thinking about how we're going to rule the world together again?

It was Suyiyana. Raeden laughed, though that time it was more genuine. "When am I not thinking about that?" Raeden felt a rumble beneath her, her dragon's version of a laugh. Good Point. Raeden smiled. Suyiyana was her best friend. With her by her side, she would never need anyone else, ever again. The academy would pay for what they had done to her and Suyiyanas parents. The world would belong to them!  Everyone would bow down to their Empresses!

Raeden? Earth to Raeden. Raeden shook her head, her thoughts dissipating like fog. Hovering in front of them was the captain of one of the dragon squadrons in her army. He had a scarlet colored fire dragon. "Your Greatness." Him and his dragon both bowed to her as well as they could in mid air. Raeden righted herself, and put on her empress face. She had been working on it. It was the perfect amount of coldness, cleverness, and ruthlessness that made her subjects cower in front of her, yet be in awe of her. Her long raven hair blew in her face, and she hoped it didn't make her look less empress-like. "I have news from the scouts, your highness." The rider began, shivering from the cold. His next words drew her attention. "They have located Tanya Reid." A cold smile formed on her face. "Then you know what to do."
