He had to find Mi-Sun. He had to find his baby sister!
Mun-Su was sprinting down the stairs, using the banister as leverage to propel himself further with every turn, like some kind of speed boost. It was sheer determination that stopped him from falling. In that moment even the air around him was too scared to let him fall.
He was rapidly approaching the stairwell's exit, only a door between him and the lobby. Between a brother and his sister.
Without loosing any momentum, he launched himself down the last five steps, his shoulder colliding with the door with a loud 'BANG!'
Pain erupted in his shoulder and spread down his arm in a shockwave, the single minded young man paid it no mind. If he had been thinking clearly, he would have simply opened the door, but he wasn't. His mind was like a whirling tornado and he couldn't stop to think- he had to act.
Bouncing back after his initial impact, he reeled back and hurled himself into the door a second time. It didn't budge and in a moment of lucidity he grabbed the door handle, it was stiff and rattled before he was able to throw the door open and burst through the door and into the lobby.
The lobby's inhabitants were yelling and backing away in fear, Seok-Hyeon instinctively swung his weapon at the newcomer.
Mun-Su narrowly dodged the wooden stick, twirling around to face the group, frantically scanning over them. "Where the fuck is my sister?" He demanded.
Narrowed eyes honed in on the blonde teenager almost immediately and he wasted no time in running to her. More yells erupted from the group, a few moved to stop who, in their view, was a crazy man with a hammer from reaching the teenage Mi-Sun.
"Mun-Su!" She exclaimed as her brother enveloped her into a tight bear hug, lifting her off the floor in his enthusiasm. She clung to him, burying her face into his chest, "I thought you were gone!" She cried, gripping his hoodie with tight fists. There were wet spots on the fabric, the already red fabric stained darker with blood.
"I'm sorry I took so long," Mun-Su said, resting his cheek against the top of her blonde head. "Are you okay? You're not hurt are you? Did you see that woman?"
Reluctantly pulling back to look at Mun-Su's face, she still held onto him, she was afraid he'd vanish again. "What woman?"
Unacknowledged by the reunited siblings, the gangster followed Mun-Su through the door. Glowering at the stares he received. He growled, "What are you looking at?"
Dozens of sets of eyes switched between Mun-Su and the gangster, fearful and not completely convinced they weren't monsters.
"I don't know, I think she was some kind of monster," Mun-Su said.
"Oh my god, are you okay!?" Mi-Sun gasped, holding her brother back so she could look him over, circling around him to check for injuries. 'He doesn't know,' she realised in horror.
"I'm fine, Sunny," Mun-Su said, putting his hands on her arms to hold her on the spot. "I'm okay."
"There's more of them," she blurted.
"What?"
A few feet from them, the group was beginning to panic, Seok-Hyeon pointing out the deep bite wound on the gangster's shoulder. They were gathered around the man's back in a wide semicircle whilst he looked at the barricade, piecing the situation together with an unreadable expression.
