"There you are!" Mun-Su, on his hands and knees, slid his hand under the couch and grabbed his phone. How did it even get there? The pepe screensaver mocked him, he shoved it into his back pocket and didn't waste time in exiting his apartment, locking the door. He didn't want to leave Mi-Sun waiting any longer.

Knowing that taking the elevator wasn't an option, he walked towards the closest stairwell, humming to himself.
The stairwell was the perfect setting for a horror movie, he was lucky he didn't scare easy. Mi-Sun was a whole other story, quite honestly, she'd rather walk on a bed of Legos.

The building's lighting was awful, he was just waiting for the day someone would fall and break their neck because they couldn't see. That's not the reason Mun-Su would fall though, oh no, he'd fall because he couldn't walk like a normal person.

Running down the stairs and jumping several steps in a row, he was lucky he didn't fall- his mother would have an aneurysm if she'd seen. But he skidded to a halt at the sounds of a woman screaming. Loud, hysterical screeching.

Without a second thought, he ran into the hall and prepared himself for whatever situation he was getting into.

'Oh my god,' his eyes widened. The hall floor was covered in red. His stomach lurched.

'Please say that's not blood,' he begged in his head. It looked like someone handed a tin of red paint to a small child and let them go to town. A box was lying ripped and beaten in the middle of the floor, ramen packets, burst and destroyed, were strewn around everywhere.

'What the hell happened here?'

The closest apartment door was ajar, light spilling into the dim hall. He slowly crept closer to the door, legs bent and ready to either fight or run. Gingerly grasping the door handle, he pulled it open and peeked inside.

'Fuck.'

It definitely wasn't paint in the hall. Inside the apartment was the mangled and torn apart remains of, what he thought might be, a cat. Blood splattered all over the room, the apartment was completely wrecked. Furniture upturned and broken ornaments and smashed photo frames were littered on the floor. It was like a tornado had ripped through the apartment.

'This is where the blood came from.'

'No,' All the blood in the hall couldn't have come from the cat. It was too much, was it from the woman he had heard earlier? Where was she?

The next apartment's door opened, a young man bursting out, crouched with some kind of stick held in his hands. He was facing away from Mun-Su, he was tall, at least six foot, and gangly. Shaking, he was taking steps down the hall.

"Hey, man, you good?" Mun-Su called out to the shaking figure, had he seen something? "What happened out here?"

The man jumped violently and jerked around to face him, but he didn't relax when he saw Mun-Su. "Did you- did you see a weird woman just now?"

Mun-Su examined the terrified man- well, man. He looked barely older than Mi-Sun with outgrown shaggy hair and dark eye bags. He seemed soft spoken and was shaking, holding, what Mun-Su thought was, a broom handle, eyes wide and scared.
