I Mean There Is More To It

James was staring at the Slytherin table. This was for one reason and one reason only, Regulus Arcturus Black. He had been the spotlight of his affections to quite a long time. Of course, Regulus would never know. The only two people who didn't know that he was so irrevocably in love with him was Regulus Black himself, and Regulus brother and James best friend, Sirius Black. If Sirius had ever found out, he would murder James. James was not too keen on letting that happen so he kept it to himself. Now James was in 5th year, and he was sick of hiding it. He had convinced Sirius he was in love with Lily. James had to do a lot to get Lily to agree to go along with it. James didn't want to do this anymore. It was getting exhausting to hide how much he loved the younger Black boy. He just had to figure out a way to give the news to Sirius. He just needed to give him the information to him very gently. He had no idea how to do this, so he needed to recruit someone else. Remus, he was the first person who came to mind. James just needed to wait until Sirius wasn't with him, since he was a clingy bitch (he didn't care he actually thought it was cute. Made him feel like a proud mother James had once said.) Usually James didn't mind Sirius always being near Remus, but right now he was a bigger inconvenience than his own feelings. The opportunity to get Remus to help him came a couple weeks before the annual Hogsmeade trip. 

Sirius had gone to a broom closet to snog Remus senseless at some ungodly hour, and got caught due to his inability to keep quiet. Remus had run to another corridor while Sirius wasn't so lucky. He had heard this entire story from a red face laughing Remus. Apparently Remus had stood behind a pillar the entire time Sirius was getting yelled at by one of the professors trying not to laugh and get himself the same amount to detention as his boyfriend. Both of them had returned with Sirius fuming and Remus laughing his ass off. Sirius had landed himself in detention leaving Remus with some free time. 

The day after this event Remus, James, Peter, and Sirius were sitting in the common room when Sirius had gotten up to go to the detention he was meant to serve with the more than pleased werewolf.

"Well I'm off to this detention alone" he drawled out giving a obvious glare to Remus, who just chuckled in response. 

"See you after I serve this sentence alone!" Sirius had yelled while walking out of the room.

"How dramatic can he be" muttered Remus mostly to himself. This was James chance. He came up with the idea to get rid of Peter as soon as he heard Sirius was going to be stuck in detention alone for a whole 3 hours. 

"Hey Peter!" James said a little more enthusiastically than he should have. 

"I heard that there is new food stocked up in the kitchen. We are planning to go down there later, if you want to go and have first serve right now?" He knew this would get the smaller boy. He was thin but damn did he eat. You could never tell from just looking at him that he was constantly drowning himself in food. Peters eyes lit up and he instantly ran out of the room. James didn't lie to him about there being more food. What he didn't tell him was that he was the one stocked the kitchens with a lot of muggle candy to keep him busy for a while. Remus wasn't oblivious enough to believe that he had done that as a meaningless favor. He was much smarter than that. Maybe it was with all the muggle books he read that James and Sirius called him a nerd for. 

"Why did you need to get rid of Peter? Trying to get me alone Potter?" Remus had asked with a smirk and a raised eyebrow. 

"Yes, but not in the way you're thinking you pervert!" James responded with a laugh tossing a pillow at him from his spot on the velvety red couch.

"Oh I'm the pervert? Am I the one who is always staring at a certain boys lips from across the great hall?" So he had noticed. 

"That's actually what I wanted to talk to you about." In response Remus raised an eyebrow. he gave him a questioning look and after a couple seconds of this he finally asked
