-Corpse's POV-
Corpse woke up an hour and a half after he fell asleep. He smiled softly as he looked at his phone. Sykkuno's small body cuddled into his blanket looked absolutely adorable. Corpse muted and turned on the tv. He heard movement and looked over at his phone. He frowned and unmuted. "Sykkuno..? What's going on?" he asked softly. He heard a whine and watched Sykkuno flinch.
Is he scared of me..?
"You're safe.. it's okay," Corpse said softly. Sykkuno seemed to immediately calm down. Corpse smiled softly as that continued for a few more hours. Every time he heard movement, he would talk to Sykkuno and tell him he's safe. Before he knew it, it was around 4 am. He got up and went to the bathroom. When he came back, he saw a piece of paper on his bed. "Shit.." he said as he grabbed the paper and crumpled it up. He flopped down onto his bed and sighed. "Corpse..?" he heard Sykkuno ask.
Shit.
"Yeah?" Corpse replied, hoping Sykkuno didn't see the paper. "I.. uhm.. Are you afraid of.. Me..?" Sykkuno asked. Corpse looked at his phone and sighed. "So you saw the paper.." he mumbled, not knowing what to do. He looked at his phone and saw Sykkuno nod.
God fucking dammit
"Honestly,, I don't know.. A little bit but not a lot.. Just.. you're a new concept to me.. I'm not used to people like you.." Corpse replied, starting to shake from his anxiety. "People like me..?" Sykkuno asked. Corpse turned and looked at his ceiling, putting his arm over his head. "People who.. Manage to find the good in every situation.. Who always smile and who just radiate love and happiness.. People who will do anything to make another person happy.." Corpse replied. "God sometimes I wonder if you're even real or if you're some trick my mind came up with to make me feel something for once.. Or if you're a literal angel.." Corpse continued, not really realizing he was. "Corpse, you don't have to be afraid of me.. I know I'm new to you and you aren't used to people like me but.. Hold on that's really how you see me??" Sykkuno asked. "Mhm.. why?" Corpse replied. "I just don't get it really.. I'm not used to people seeing me like that.. Or telling me they see me like that.." Sykkuno replied. Corpse tilted his head, slightly confused. How could Sykkuno not see himself like that? "I'm sorry, Sykkuno.." Corpse said, not knowing what else to say. "It's okay.. And Corpse.. It's 4 am.. When did you wake up?" Sykkuno asked. "Uhm.. 6 pm.." Corpse mumbled. He turned back onto his side. "Why didn't you hang up..?" Sykkuno asked. "I was gonna.. But I muted so I wouldn't wake you up whilst I made sure you were 100% asleep.. And you started kinda.. Panicking in your sleep almost.. But when I unmuted and asked what was happening, you calmed down almost immediately.. For sure after I said you were safe.." Corpse explained. He watched as Sykkuno turned back to his side. "Sometimes I get nightmares.. Thank you for not hanging up.." Sykkuno mumbled. Corpse frowned. Sykkuno didn't deserve nightmares.. He didn't deserve anything bad.. "Hey, you're safe.. I'll keep you safe.." Corpse said. "But we're forever and a half miles away.." Sykkuno replied. "I'll keep you safe Sykkuno. No matter the distance." Corpse assured him, smiling a little bit. "I'll do the same then. No matter the distance!!" Sykkuno giggled. Corpse smiled more. He wanted to protect that giggle, that smile.. He wanted to protect Sykkuno. He decided that was his goal from here on. Protect Sykkuno. "Hey, Corpse," Sykkuno said softly. "Yes?" Corpse replied. Sykkuno smiled softly. "Go to sleep." He said. Corpse groaned. "I don't wanna! I wanna talk to you!!" Corpse protested. He giggled when Sykkuno started laughing. "Corpse it's 4 am. We can talk when you wake up! I'll stay on the phone!!" Sykkuno replied with a smile.
That fucking smile. How could you say no to that smile.
"Fine." Corpse sighed. He smiled softly and grabbed a pillow, cuddling it tight. He closed his eyes and went to sleep.

Corpse woke up at 7 am and rubbed his eyes. "Ughh" he mumbled. "Well good morning," Sykkuno said with a small giggle, causing Corpse to immediately smile. "Hello," Corpse replied and sat up. He grabbed his phone and unplugged it and went into the kitchen. He took his meds and grabbed some water. "I don't know if I'm gonna stream today.. I'm still feeling pretty shitty.." Corpse said softly. "That's okay! You gotta take care of yourself!!" Sykkuno replied with another smile.
That. damned. smile.
Corpse smiled back. He left his phone in the kitchen and went to the bathroom. He came back and ran his hands through his hair. His mind went back to his mirror. He sighed softly. "You okay..?" Sykkuno asked, worried. "Yes, of course," Corpse replied. He went to the fridge and grabbed some food. He ate a little bit and sat down on the counter, talking to Sykkuno. "Have you eaten today?" he asked. "Yeah!" Sykkuno smiled. "Good," Corpse smiled.
