Footsteps pounded towards me shaking my room, braking me out of my slumber, anticipating what was about to come I gathered the little strength I had this morning and rolled over. I let out a groan as my body raised slightly before falling straight back down on the bed from the impact of Thalia jumping on the bed. I let out a light chuckle through the pain that was throbbing at my side,
"Aww, you weren't supposed to move," Thalia whined,
"Oh I'm dearly sorry," I muttered sarcastically, before rolling over and shoving her off the side of my bed, this time it was her turn to let out a groan, I merely smirked before commenting,
"Now get out so I can change," She let out a huff but obliged dragging her feet as she walked, I shook my head at her letting out a sigh as the door slammed shut. I got up slowly being careful of the throbbing pain at my side, slowly walking over to the mirror in the corner of my room, I lifted up the thin material of my shirt. I let out a gasp, when my eyes landed on the big bruise running down my left side, I brushed my fingers over it letting out a hiss of pain, I took in a deep breath, rummaging through the bag praying that I'd packed my pain killers. I let out a sigh of relief as my hand grasped a small box and popped one in my mouth gulping down the water sitting on my bedside table. I took a deep breath before beginning to change wincing occasionally as clothing occasionally brushed the bruise.I jogged downstairs wincing slightly as my feet hit every step,
"Finally, I thought you went back to sleep," Astra commented taking a large bite out of the apple, I stuck my tongue out at her, laughing as Rhea shook her head at us.
"Chuck me an apple," I commented, reaching up to catch it hiding my wince,
"Are you not going to eat anything else?" Thalia commented, eyebrows creasing, I just shook my head at her taking a small bite out of the apple, "You have to eat more than just that, you didn't even eat lunch," Thalia pressed "Or dinner yesterday!" I just rolled my eyes,
"I'm fine," I commented dragging out the 'e' Rhea stood up cutting Thalia off as she said,
"Come on we need to get to the field, because I don't fancy having to run 10 laps around it when we're late,"
"We have ages," Thalia protested whining, Rhea shook her head dragging her behind her. I shook my head at the two of them, the four of us all stood up together letting out a sigh before walking after them,
"What do you think will happen today?" asked Astra, as she pushed the tall doors open, I shrugged before saying,
"I have no idea but nothing good,"
"That's for sure," Kamaria agreed, we all turned the corner our footsteps syncing,
"Do you think we'll start fighting with weapons," Adhara commented, I thought back to yesterday when I found the wall of weapons,
"I mean possibly, In the training room at the back of the field theres a whole wall of weapons," I stated looking out towards the field, it was maybe 100 meters away I could see the small figures of Thalia and Rhea walking towards the middle of the field,
"That's where you went," Astra commented looking down at me,
"Yeah.." I trailed off laughing nervously at the end, Adhara and Kamaria both raised a brow at me,
"So are we going to talk about what happened yesterday with the amulet or are we just going to forget what happened," Adhara commented, my head snapped to her's panic rising in my throat,
"While that is a great question..." I started trailing of at the end, I let out a sigh as they all looked at me waiting for me to finish the sentence I started, "and while I would love to answer it, I do not have an answer, I keep trying to ask Dominic but he's avoiding me like the plague," I commented, rolling my eyes, I relaxed slightly when no one realised that the what I said last was a lie. We were all fell silent as we finally reached where Thalia and Rhea were standing.
"Right so today I want to see how good you are with a sword, I'm aware some of you haven't ever used a sword," he commented, looking over to me and Thalia, "but some of you are quite experienced," he finished directing his gaze towards Rhea, I bit my lip, I could still feel the light pain in my side and I couldn't help but worry beginning to use a sword.
"Rhea, your going to train with Kamaria because you both have had experience with a sword," they both nodded walking over to the training room, preparing to choose their weapons, "Twins you will train together," They both nodded a small smile on their faces, they started walking towards the training room walking towards Rhea and Kamaria,
"And you two," he started, gaze assessing both of us, "You two have never hand any experience with a sword, so you will be training together this morning as I teach you a few skills, then this afternoon your will train separately and practice the moves," We both nodded, sending a nervous glance to each other, he spun on his heel signaling for us too follow him, we shared a quick glance before picking up the pace and walking after him.
He stopped in front of the doors of the training room before saying, "Since neither of you have used, a sword we need to work out what sword is best for you," he then shoved open the door to the training room, signaling to the large wall of weapons, I heard Thalia suck in a breath beside me before walking straight to the wall of weapons, bouncing on her feet. I shook my head a small smile gracing my features as I join her in admiring the large array of weapons. I ran my hand over the hilts of a few different short swords before finally deciding on one engraved with
ravens, I ran my hand down the blade, before looking over to Thalia unlike me Thalia had gone straight to the longswords. I watched as she picked one of the wall, fire was engraved on the hilt of the sword and she laid it in her palm weighing it before grasping it in her right hand and smiling.
"I assume you have both chosen, "Dominic commented as he walked in the room occasionally chucking a dagger in the air before placing it down on the table, I stopped my mouth from falling open when I saw the ease in which he handled the daggers. We both nodded hesitant to speak, his eyes dropped from our faces to our weapons before nodding slightly,
"Thalia stand here," he stated pointing to across the room, "Sunshine stand opposite her," I had to stop myself from rolling my eyes at the nickname before I obliged walking towards Thalia, he seemed to sigh as he watched us just stand stock still staring at him.
"Copy my position," He added as he moved his right foot forwards and left leg back slightly, "you need to put the weight on your back leg as it will give you more power when you go to strike," he commented in bored tone, I let my eyes flick down to his position as I mirrored it exactly letting my sword hang loosely in my hand. He walked towards us assessing our position before his eyes dropped to our swords, "God you've really never done this before have you," he stated rolling his eyes, he adjusted Thalia's position before directing me, "Finally," he finished coldly, I rolled my eyes at him, before looking towards Thalia.
"Considering the fact that you would probably kill each other if I let you run loose, we're not going to start with sharp swords," he stated, at that I shrugged knowing he was right but being hesitant to agree with him. "lets start of simple," he commented, picking a short sword of the wall of weapons walking towards us,
"I thought you said we weren't training with sharp swords," Thalia said, looking her blade up and down,
"They appear sharp, but they're not," I commented running my hand down the blade, Dominic's eyes watched me run my finger down my blade raising one eyebrow at me,
"You are correct, but I recommend not running your finger down blades, most of them are sharp," he said letting out a sigh and rolling his eyes,
"No shit sherlock, I never would've guessed," I replied sarcastically, earning a warning glare from him,
