Chapter 7: The Compass.

Y/N's POV:

With a smile on both of our faces, me and JJ made our way to the Château, where we noticed a summons notice from DCS taped to the door. Deciding it was funny to pull a prank on John B, JJ banged on the door and yelled,

"DCS! I know you're in there!"

I covered my mouth, trying my very best to stifle my laughter. I watched as JJ jumped in front of the window, scaring John B.

"Gotcha, slick." He said in between laughs. I finally surrender to my laughter as I saw the expression John B's face, which JJ didn't fail to point out.

Me and JJ waited for John B to get ready and then got in the van on the way to Ms. Lana's house. JJ sat in the passenger, John B was driving and I sat in the back, leaning over in between the two so I could talk to them.

Then JJ brought up the conversation of John B and Kie again, despite John B's reluctance to talk about it.

"I'm just saying, I don't understand why you don't at least try with Kiara. She clearly likes you. She's like, "Oh, John B."" JJ mocked as me and John B just looked at each with a look that said what the fuck?

John B turned his attention back to JJ, "Is that what she does?" John B decided to humour JJ whilst I just zoned out, focusing on the road in front.

I was snapped out of my daydreams when JJ called my name.

"Huh?" I asked, not paying attention to what they were saying.

"I said you're a girl-"

"Well noticed." I joked before allowing him to continue.

"You and Kie are close, she must've talked to you about John B before, y'know, girl talk."

"First of all, girls do have better things to do than talk about guys all day, although that may come as a surprise to you both," I shot them both a glare before continuing, "and secondly, yes Kiara does talk to me and no, I'm not telling you anything." I replied with a sweet smile which just annoyed them both.

JJ just rolled his eyes at me and turned to look at the compass in front of him on the dash.

"Hey, don't-" John B said as he reached for the compass in JJ's hand.

"I was just looking at it." JJ replied as he moved the compass away from John B's hand. "I gotta admit, your fathers compass in Scooter's boat, that's kinda freaky."

"Yeah. That's why we're going to talk to Ms. Lana, figure this whole thing out."

"I'm sure she would just love to talk to us. It's not like her husband just drowned or anything." JJ said negatively. We just ignored him and focused ahead of us, we were nearly at Ms. Lana's house. We pulled up outside and all got out the van when we heard noises from inside. The sound of glass smashing, furniture being thrown and men yelling disrupted the peacefulness outside.

"Maybe we should come back." JJ suggested, but John B and I didn't listen as we moved closer to the house. We heard a man threaten Ms. Lana, I think he was hurting her because she let out a scream causing all three of us to duck instinctively. We made our way to the side of the house  until we were under the window. JJ pulled John B down and we all crouched down with our backs against the wall.
