Sawyer sat in his chair looking out at the ocean. He was pissed, and his crew knew it. When they found out that Willow had gone they knew not to say or do anything that would piss him off more. For the first few days, a horrible storm rang loose. Now there was just a constant drizzle.
"Captain, are you sure it's a good idea to go after her?" Dustin asked stepping over to stand beside Sawyer.
"Whether or not it is or isn't shouldn't concern you," Sawyer said.
"Well, it does," Dustin said," I'm firstmate, which means I'm second in command on this boat."
"What are you implying?" Sawyer questioned. The hairs in his neck standing, a growl escaping from deep within Sawyer.
"You're not fit to be making any decisions at this time," Dustin said.
"Are you challenging me?" Sawyer asked baring his teeth.
"Yes, I am," Dustin said turning to face Sawyer.
In one swift movement, Sawyer was on his feet holding a dagger at Dustin's throat. A gasp escapes his mouth as a sharp, burning pain erupts from his left side. Glancing down Sawyer saw a knife was shoved deep into his flesh. Instinctively Sawyer moves away.
"What's wrong," Dustin asked with a smirk plastered on his face," does it burn?"
"You're going to regret that," Sawyer snarled.
"Your mind is clouded with thoughts of some pampered princess," Dustin said," I'm not going to regret anything."
Sawyer lunged at Dustin again. This time keeping an eye out for anything else Dustin might have hidden. As his dagger sank into Dustin's shoulder, the knife that Dustin held slashed his abdomen. This time it was Dustin that moved away. Blood poured out of Dustin's shoulder as did Sawyers side and abdomen.
Thunder roared over their heads as the rain picked back up. The two men circled each other holding their weapons.
"You need to forget that princess," Dustin snapped," we're better off without her."
Sawyer lunged again at Dustin realizing that he must have done something to make Willow leave. As he shoved his dagger into Dustin's stomach he felt Dustin try to move away. Grabbing ahold of his neck Sawyer lifted Dustin off his feet. Knocking the knife out of Dustin's hand. Walking over to the side of the boat he held Dustin out to the raging water.
"What did you do?" Sawyer questioned.
"I did nothing," Dustin chocked out.
"Captain, what are you doing!?" Violet shrieked.
"He challenged me," Sawyer simply said.
"He did it before and you never planned on killing him before," Chace said.
Turning his head to look at the two he saw the rest of his crew standing huddled together against the pouring rain.
"Now what did you do to make Willow leave?" Sawyer asked turning his attention back to Dustin.
"I did nothing to her," Fustin choked out," can't you just be happy she left."
"No, I can't," Sawyer growled.
"Dustin I wouldn't be toying with the Captain if I was you," Treasure said.
Sawyer tightened his hold on Dustin's throat.
"Oh come now brother you really shouldn't take your anger out on your crew," Thomas's voice said from behind Sawyer.
Keeping ahold of Dustin, Sawyer turned to see his brother relaxing in his chair. A smug smirk plastered on his face.
"What are you doing here?" Sawyer questioned.
He was now furious.
"Oh come now, you have an excellent firstmate," Thomas said," listens very well too."
He snapped his attention back to Dustin. He felt betrayed. His firstmate had been helping his brother and drove Willow away. Not caring what happens to his once-loyal, trustworthy firstmate, Sawyer throws him overboard into the raging water.
"You didn't have to through him overboard," Thomas grumbled.
Instinctively Sawyer pulled his dagger out from its resting place and threw it at Thomas.
"Agh!" Thomas shouted in pain.
The dagger had penetrated Thomas's right shoulder. Lightning flashed across the sky and, thunder boomed. Sawyer was unable to control his anger. Lunging forward he tackled his brother to the floor. The two punched, scratched, bit, and stabbed one another.
Hiss!
Sawyer felt hands pulling him off Thomas. Turning his head to see who stopped him from tearing his brother apart, he saw the four angular people that Willow befriended.
"Unhand me," Sawyer snapped.
"No," Glow sticks said.
"When did... you become pals... with those things?" Thomas asked coughing up some blood.
"Who I associate with is none of your business," Sawyer snapped.
"We will deal with him," Lighter fluid said.
Christmas lights and Jack-o-lantern walked over to the bloody man sitting across from him.
"Stay away from me you filthy vermin," Thomas spat.
All four of the angular people started hissing at him. He knew very well not to call these creatures names due to their short temper, and aggressive behavior.
"We think you've bothered these people long enough," Glow sticks said," it's time you paid for your sins."
Sawyer stood and watched as they dragged his brother away screaming and cursing. They only responded to him with hissing and a threat of poisoning. Once the sound of his brother's screams died away he took a long deep breath.
"Captain," Eleanor whispered.
He turned to look at the remaining of his crew. They were stilled huddled together terror in their eyes. Eleanor was the only one that stood from them.
"Let's get those wounds looked at," Eleanor said motioning for him to follow.
It took a moment before he followed Eleanor below deck out of the rain. The sounds of footsteps told him that the others had also come out of the rain.
"I'll see you in your room once I grab my things," Eleanor said walking towards her room.
He didn't say a word just walked to his room. Once inside he went straight to his desk and sat down and waited for Eleanor. He knew by the time she showed up most of the wounds would be healed. Listing to the rain he closed his eyes wishing Willow was there to calm him.
