"Whos there?" A male voice asked.
All three of them stayed still and quiet. They waited for the owner of the voice to show himself before making any moves. They heard footsteps then a man walked out into the moonlight. It was the man he had seen a few days before.
"Jacob?" Willow breathed.
Sawyer glanced over at her then looked back at the man. The only way she would know this man's name was if he was a royal guard, or he helped her escape the castle the first time.
"Princess is that you?" The man, Jacob, asked.
Willow looked around then stoop up and walked out of their hiding spot.
"What are you doing here," Jacob asked," don't you know there's an escaped prisoner?"
"Yeah, about that," Willow said.
Jacob gave Willow a strange look but didn't say a word.
"But you have to promise you won't tell a soal," Willow said.
"I can't prom-" Jacob tried to say.
"Promise Jacob," Willow demanded.
Sawyer saw him sigh then promised Willow he wouldn't say a word to anyone. She led him to the shadows of the wall where he and Dino waited. Once the two were standing in front of him and Dino, Sawyer saw Jacob stiffen.
"Why are you helping him?" Jacob asked.
"Because I can," Willow said," and I want to."
Sawyer noticed that Jacob didn't question Willow any further. He just stared down at him. Then Jacob looked over to Dino.
"Okay who's this, and why does he have a dagger sticking out of his chest," Jacob asked then adding pointing at Sawyer," and on top of that how is he not dead?"
"That's Dino he's helping us, his brother just tried to kill him the other night," Willow said.
Jacob waited for his last question to be answered.
"I can't say why he's not dead yet," Willow said looking at Sawyer.
Sawyer gave her a look back, then turned his attention back to the blade in his chest.
"Don't you dare touch that," Willow said, pointing a finger at him.
"Umm, it might be best if we keep moving," Dino said," unless you want to get caught."
"Your friend has a point," Jacob said," the king is furious and has guards patrolling everywhere."
"Aren't you one of those guards?" Dino asked.
Sawyer glanced at him. At least he wasn't the only one that thought Jacob looked like he was a guard.
"Not anymore," Jacob said," I was told to leave, and I left."
"There's no more time for questions," Sawyer said slowly getting to his feet with a grunt.
Willow hurriedly walked over to his side as he used the wall for support. Jacob wished Willow luck and left the three. Once the sound of Jacob's footsteps could no longer be heard they continued. The pace was slow and they had to stick close to the walls of the buildings as much as possible. Finally, when they ran out of housings they stopped so he could rest. They were so close to the harbor that it was driving him mad. He just wanted back on his boat as far away from this place as possible.
"Should I go and get Eleanor?" Willow asked looking at him.
He didn't say a word. He just gave a nod and watched her head towards the boats.
